Nevermore Vs. Gardenian

I picked up this CD by Gardenian used today before work. It's a great CD, but this track called "Doom & Gloom" struck me as very familiar. It took me a while to figure it out, but the main riff sounds almost identical to Nevermore's "Beyond Within." Take a listen.

Gardenian - Doom & Gloom
Nevermore - Beyond Within

Nevermore's Dreaming Neon Black was released on Jan 26, 1999. Gardenian's Sindustries was released on Oct 31, 2000. Who copied who? Coincidence?

Its probably a coincidence. Either way Gardenian blows Nevermore away. IMO. :wink:

How bout Neverrmore vs Communic, i think these norwegians sound very similar to Nevermore, although Nevermore kicks theyre ass imo.

Communic are nowhere near Nevermore in quality music.Besides they are much more prog metal which is difficult to digest.

Seriously, there are very few metal bands right now (if any) that could be listed as better than Nevermore. As far as melodeath is concerned, the only one that could make that claim would be Dark Tranquillity. Noone else.

That's completey incorrect. I've been listening to their CD, Sindustries, a lot recently and it's pretty much kicks ass!

While Gardenian is good, they are nowhere near the quality of Nevermore.

Gardenian are a third rate Gothenburg Metal band that broke up some time ago. Nevermore are one of the top bands in metal today. Hmmm I wonder who wins?

Hey, anyone heard the band Core Device? They're unsigned out of New Jersey, I believe, they sound a lot like a power metal version of Nevermore with some death metal growls thrown in. I can post a review if you'd like.

I'll have to check them out. Nevermore is one of my favorite bands.
