I strongly recommend this band to all who like heavy and melodic prog/power metal.Everything is so perfect...from the production to the vocals and the songwriting itself. It's by far the suprise of the year for me.You can tell from the songs that these guys have experience and know how to play.I can't tell you of any bands similar to this.

http://cloudscape.se/
Here you can check their website.Cool cover art by the way (ProgArt).

http://www.melodicrock.com/showcase/cloudscape.html
And here you can listen to samples of the entire album.Check out first:Under Fire;Out Of The Shadows;Scream.
Really someone should review this album because I have a feeling it's passing by unnoticed.
Enjoy...oh and don't forget to share your opinion :D

WOW!!

I'm listening to "As the Light Leeds the Way" and this is awesome stuff. I had to resurrect this thread to get these guys some recognition. Let's see where the album goes from here.

Hmmm...none of the samples work. Know of where I can hear some tunes?

I haven't read up on this band, but is this the dude that sings for Kamelot?

No, but I do hear a resemblance. I hear more Russell Allen, Jorn Lande than anything though. I actually think the music itself sounds a lot like Symphony X.

That's a great tune. I definitely hear that dude from Kamelot. I don't hear Allen and Lande, though. I'll have to look into this CD.

Is there any place where there are more soundbytes because the ones at melodic rock still don't work.

Halleluja!!!!

I've been talking about this band for so long. They simply kick ass.
Unfortunately the samples at melodicrock doesn't work. The easiest way is to download the entire album which is killer. :P
Under Fire, Aqua 275, Scream are all great tunes.

I don't think Michael sounds as any of the mentioned singers. He sounds more like Christian Rivel.

Jep, the debut of Cloudscape is AWESOME!!!!! I really hope they´ll get the recognision they deserve. I have a friend who know the singer of the band a little and he has heard a few songs from their new album during recordings so, he says that the new songs slays even more than the debut:))) I can´t wait ´til I hear it. Mikes (vocalist) voice is much more varied & interesting on the new album as well. I think he sings awesome on the debut.

I was browsing the Cloudscape website today so, since I´ve read in this thread that some of you can´t find any music by Cloudscape I can tell you that they have uploaded 1 (whole) song in their website in order to download. The song is "Under fire". Check it out.

Cloudscape sounds a lot like Last Tribe.

Two songs on the album are really good, but the rest just SOUNDS good the first time you hear it. They've got the playing down, the production is excellent but they aren't really getting the songwriting past mediocre on most of the album.

Still, great first effort. I think the second one will rule.

Yeah, that is basically how I feel. I posted the above message after hearing one track (which was awesome btw) but then I found the rest of the album to be pretty boring.

There are a few fillers on this album indeed but, 7 - 8 songs are awesome and I have had the album in my possession for 6 months now and I´m still not tired of it. Everything´s a matter of taste so, some like it a lot and some don´t. I´m looking forward to their second album:)

Yeah it the same thing with me. The first time I heard this album I was totally blown away by the quality of the songs. And even now after i don't know how many listen I still get blown away by the majority of the songs. The only boring song I can name is The Presence Of Spirits. The good songs are Losing Faith, Slave, Dawn Of Fury and Out Of The Shadows. The rest and especially Scream, Under Fire and In These Wals are killer. It's a solid 85 from me and eagerly awaiting Crimson Skies.

It's not yet confirmed but the album is already recorded so it's estimated around june or july this year.
