Clearly this is a sign that the Mayans were right.

Nobody posted something about this earlier? Weird. But yes, this is finally coming. It won't live up to the expectations people have, nor will it change the minds of those who hated the first album. I expect it to be a good album, maybe even a great one. They're headlining Heidenfest here on the 4th of November, I might go to that show (skipping Korpiklaani, ugh), hoping to hear some new songs. The Way of the Fire sounded great when I saw them last year so that's at least promising.
Also, Time II is coming early next year as well.

Listened to the whole thing yesterday and....i gotta say that i am disappointed. It's not that it's bad but it's just way too sugar coated and it try too hard to be epic/over the top. The album is way too orchestral/symphonic driven and the awesome guitar riffs that were at the fore front of the first album are quasi non existent. You won't find any Winter Madness , Death and the Healing , Beautiful Death ect here. I basically have the same issues with Time I that i had with Blind Guardian - ANATO. It's just "too much" with too many layers. Production could be better too

And don't expect a melodic death album because it's just not that. Its much more of a power metal album than anything. Snippets of reviews i was reading on facebook before listening to the album were saying that Time I was a mix between Rhapsody Of Fire , Ensiferum and Nightwish. Well now i can say they were sort of right and while i love all the 3 bands mentionned above im not sure its the right thing fgor Wintersun.

Now i will spin it a few more times once i get my physical copy so perhaps it will grow on me but it certainly didn't WOW me like the first time i listened to the first album. Hopefully Time II will be more riffs and melodic death driven but im not going to get my hopes up.

This is nowhere near the debut, be it in terms of quality, catchiness or slap in the face, but it is a good album nonetheless and I will buy it eventually.

Agreed on the production, not flawless.

Gave it the first listen yesterday and it didn't grab me. Good moments here and there. I keep coming back to Finsterforst, Witchcraft and Razörwyre.

Yeah, apparently he wasn't able to get ahold of a quantum computer with 2 million bit recording technology, or whatever the fucking "problem" was, which I thoroughly debunked as being valid reasons for the delay some time ago. The guy must have had paranoid amphetamine or alcohol fueled delusions regarding the engineering and sound production of the record and got a little too paranoid about everything. That's okay, we've all been there and done that at some point.
