Didn't know this until I saw on another forum but original Fates Warning vocalist John Arch and original and current Fates Warning guitarist Jim Matheos have reunited under a new side project Arch/Matheos and judging from the sound clip on their site looks like it's going to be very gooooooooooooood. Sounds like old school Fates Warning to me check it out:

Sounds really good indeed! I'm a big FW fanboy, especially the Arch-era. Awaken the Guardian is in my Hall of Fame. Amazing album. Arch's range diminished a bit, but he still can kick some serious amount of ass. His vocals are of the love-or-hate kind, though.

Vocals sound good but the guitars are awful.
