If you could suggest ONE Iron maiden album to buy
which one would it be and why ?

I've heard Maiden before but could never decide which CD to get.

Piece of Mind

There are albums with some better songs, but few have as many great ones together in one place:

The Trooper
The Flight of Icarus
Where Eagles Dare
Die with Your Boots On

to name a few.

Yup. Although Powerslave is awesome too. Pick one of those two. Whichever you can find cheaper.

Piece of Mind because Nico brought a lot to help Maiden become a more progressive metal act and it shows straight from this album

also because it has 6 great songs and two "funny" ones (including Sun & Steel which sounds just like Helloween's Kiske era without that anoying double bass)

second choice would be Live After Death

The trooper still really kicks ass, that is if you have real metal blood running through your veins

You’ll take my life but I’ll take yours too
You’ll fire you musket but I’ll run you through
So when your waiting for the next attack
You’d better stand there’s no turning back

Great album but i prefer Piece of Mind and Powerslave. But honestly it's Iron fucking Maiden. You really can't go wrong.

If you are only going to get one in your entire life, ever, and you really really mean it, then get Live After Death - it's got just about everything and the sound is better than on the actual albums.

Well, it is on some of the songs, but Bruce doesn't always hit all the high notes. I mean, it's definitely a must-have, but I don't know if I'd take it as my one album if I had to make that choice.

I'd go for Powerslave 1st, then Somewhere in Time, Piece of Mind, then 7th Son. If you dont like what you hear from those albums, then i wouldnt bother with the rest

... is a soloalbum from Bruce Dickinson.

@topic: I can't suggest one as I've got got the same problem as grandbazaar, but I think the first one I'll get is Piece Of Mind or perhaps Live After Death, because I like live albums

I'm pretty sure WIC knew that. He just thinks that album is better than any Iron Maiden album.
