Since I'm always ranting and raving about obscure old metal bands and how people need to hear them, I think this site should have a section every week for an obscure but awesome heavy metal just as a way of exposing people to metal they havent heard before because the band only put out an LP, is from a smaller country, or for whatever reason has been dwelling in the shadows for many years. This of course also includes demos of underground bands that are awesome as well.

They don't have to be full reviews like the other albums, but I do think this site should expose readers to a greater variety of music other than the ones put out by the big labels or by larger established acts. There is a whole host of excellent bands that no one ever talks about. I think it's time to let them be heard!!

No. A venue for me to review albums that otherwise would never be reviewed thereby exposing readers to bands that they might never have heard of and will unfortunately miss out on. Relative to well-known and mainstream acts, there is a larger quantity of good heavy metal that has never seen the light of day because they just never got exposure via a large record lable. So my thoughts were to dust em off and review them.

Usually by checking metal archives to see former bands of guys in bands i like. And also I hear about things from my international friends. But mostly its looking on metal archives for bands fromcountries like spain, france, sweden etc., and for specific years like 79-86 etc.

Really its not a unique approach, but it yields many great bands. Finding their releases is the tough part.

I try to do the MA search sometimes, but I get pretty bored after 1 or 2 failures then stop and go do something else.

I thought a lot of what was reviewed here would be considered under the radar, honestly. Except maybe to the more devoted metalhead.

And a lot that stuff tends to get ignored in the comments section, though I can't say about the actual page views.

I have a lot of releases of spanish metal from the 80's, for example, just PM if you search something, perhaps I can help you.

Why don't you just apply to the site to become a reviewer?
