New melodic speed / power metal outfit featuring vocals by Herbie Langhans (Seventh Avenue) and drum work by Frederik Ehmke (Blind Guardian). Not very original, but still extremely solid stuff that's very well executed. I'm surprised no one's mentioned them on the forum before now!

Agreed. I really like Langhans' voice. I think I need to go check out some Seventh Avenue.

Terium is a must-listen if you're wanting to get into Seventh Avenue. Easily one of the most memorable power metal albums of the 00's, IMO.

I'll second that.

Terium is good, but by the end of it I was so sick of him saying "Terium" so many damn times. It became quite annoying after a while...

Also, Sinbreed does sound good, I listened to them about a week ago. Another band who is on the same label (Ulterium Records), is InnerWish, and they too sound very good. They do have a myspace page too so you can listen to their material.

Agreed this album kicks major booty.

And is it me or does Herbie Langhans have a very distinctive Andi Deris quality to his singing?

He seems more like a Rockin Rolf kinda guy to me.

Pretty good album. Can't say I love every song on it, but it's a damn good listen. Very catchy melodies and decent enough guitar playing. The singer reminds me a lot of Rockin Rolf...so basically this band sounds like a mixture of Running Wild and HIbria.

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised he likes this.

Really? I've never professed to hate power metal. In fact I am quite fond of it. What I can't stand is hopelessly fruity or generic power metal. While this band is hardly ground breaking I can appreciate the mixture of melody and agression. True Sinbreed sounds like several other bands combined, but that's never been a conclusive factor in me hating or liking a band. I liked Hibria's first album quite a bit, not the second, but the first, and this album reminds me of Breaking the Rules quite a bit, toss in some Running Wild-isms and I'm happy.

The most important thing is that it's not weak ass generic shit. Don't get me wrong though, I dont like every song on the album, but the ones I do like I like quite a bit. I do wish the Christian leanings werent so evident, but hey, they can't all be winners.

Dust to Dust and the first song are probably my favorites. And one song has some real Mega Man 2-type keyboards in it that I enjoy quite a bit.

Not the super awesome album that everyone is making it out to be, but still, the parts that are good are really good. That is all.

Ok, after listening to this consistently for a week or so. It's good, but Hibria is way better. The vocals are great for Sinbreed, but the guitarist and general lack of genericness in the music detracts significantly from it. Too many "Ride the Sky" type riifs and overly used and abused riffs.

Hibria on the other hand, while not being totally original, at least have a lot of interesting riffs and significantly more technical prowess. So, final judgment Hibria > Sinbreed.

Yeah, I'd agree that Hibria is better than Sinbreed, but both bands have their strengths. Sinbreed is more melodic and Hibria is more technical. Good bands all around, though.
