Since I noticed we don't have a thread about him. What do you think?

I think he is brilliant. One of the best ever.

not overly technical, but very good melodies and they maek good ballads. The rockers can be hit or miss. I like the singer they grabbed from hardline, but after too many songs I need to listen to something else. Dont get me wrong I do like them, but sometimes vocals and riffs seem to run together after a while. Still interested in the new album as I have their many others when released.

Axel Rudi Pell is one of those bands who have never released a "bad" album. Take Mystica, Kings And Queens, Black Moon Pyramid, Oceans Of Time and Shadow Zone for example. All kick ass with great melodic rock tunes.

Johnny Gioeli is one of my favourite vocalists, because of his range, style and emotion. The guy's great to listen to.

New album coming this year too, called The Crest, being released in late April I believe.

Yeah. I agree they will always give you a good album without venturing off the core path of their sound. I like Johnny but after listening to axel a while, I just have to listen to something else. There is still alot of similarities with the way he uses his range in competition with the guitar riffs. nonetheless, you will get quality songwriting, melodic hooks, mostly great ballads, a few epic type tunes, and quality rockers. Also, a great album cover!!! (lol).

I am looking forward to the crest as well.
I would score most of their albums in the 80s; Im still waiting on that album to blow me out of my chair tho, I know these guys have the abilities to do it, everything is there, maybe just need a little patience or the write producer, dunno

I think the new album may be the one to do it.

Fool Fool, Magic, Land Of The Giants, Still I'm Sad and Eternal Prisoner are some of my favourties. Jeff Scott Soto is my pick of his vocalists.

Devil zone song leaked to youtube. Not bad... still crossing fingers we dont get a filler song
The hooks and melodies, vocals, harmonix, and leadwork will be present, I just want the songrwriting to step it up a notch. This a good song tho
