I wasn't sure whether or not to put this in the Satan review thread, or to start a new one, so if this is superfluous, by all means lock/delete it.

Anyway, I got "Court in the Act" by Satan for Christmas, and it fucking rules. From the review on this website I've gathered that the band went through a few name changes in their time, as well as vocalist shifts and what-have-you. I was wondering what other albums produced by the same musicians, under whatever name they happened to take at the time, are worth getting?

Also, any other general musical recommendations would also be appreciated!

Satan's second album "Suspended Sentence" is excellent as well. It is a bit thrashier than "Court in the Act" while never becoming complete thrash. The vocalist is different. He does a great job but I prefer Brian Ross.

I'm not sure of the exact history, but then there are two albums by what appears to be Satan under different names. THere is:

Blind Fury - Out of Reach (sounds a lot like "Court in the Act")

Then there are two albums by Pariah.
The Kindred and Unity. Pariah sounds more like Suspended Sentence.

All good stuff, but Court in the Act and Suspended Sentence are the two absolutely magnificent albums.

Steve Ramsey and one other member went on to join Martin Walkyier in Skyclad.

There are actually 3 Pariah albums;HT didn't mention Blaze of Obscurity, the 2nd album. Their 1st album The Kindred is pretty much thrash metal.Michael Jackson, the singer, is amazing.

Also, if you like Brian Ross, check the 1st Blitzkriek album A Time of Changes.

You must check out Blind Fury. These two songs in particular are absolutely outstanding:

Out of Reach

Dance of the Crimson Lady

Slower melodic heavy metal, but with vocals and riffs oozing with confidence and power. Finding this band was like unearthing some great metal secret. It's such a shame that they never did a follow up. One of my favorite 80's metal albums.
