Finally!!! From Heavenly's official Myspace:

September 2, 2009 - Wednesday

New Album !!!
Current mood: exhausted

Hi dudes !
It's been a looooooooooong time without news, isn't it ?

But you allready know why : we're all working very hard on the new Heavenly album available ASAP my friends !

The title ? ... : CARPE DIEM

The songs ? ... here it is :

- Carpe Diem - A Better Me
- Lost In Your Eyes - The Face Of Truth
- Save Our Souls - Ashen Paradise
- Ode To Joy - Fullmoon - Farewell

This is it for the moment folks !

C U later alligators !!!

Your worst friend ...

Charley

I'm freaking psyched for this, Virus was great and Dust to Dust is basically my favorite Power Metal album of all time, so hopefully Carpe Diem won't disappoint.

Your thoughts?

I do hope they return to the Dust To Dust style.

Sorry to kill all the joy, but this band is so overrated it hurts... I bought Dust to Dust and expected to be blown away, but I can't even stomach a full listen. Mostly the vocals I think, the rest is pretty good.

I think you should give "Virus" a try as well. I like "Dust to Dust", but IMO "Virus" has a better sound to it. It might be less heavier, but I think it sounds more mature and suits their vocalist better.

I prefer Dust To Dust over Virus. Much better, thicker guitar sound, more varied song material and the lyrical concept is just stinking cool. But there is something about these guys that makes me too have a hard time stomaching very much in one listening. The pompous and bombastic factor that is one of the reasons this band is so good also makes them tiresome in the long run. But in small doses, these guys deliver some of the best power metal around.

Looking forward to the new album by the way. :)

Virus was my most played albums of recent years. I absolutley love it. Once you get passed the vocals, the music will blow you away. I can't wait to hear whats next.

Dust to Dust is a bit meh for me though.

I actually prefer the first two albums, Coming from the Sky and Sign of the Winner. The production got better in the last two albums, but I like more the way Ben sings especially in Coming from the Sky, because later he went on to a extremely high and sometimes annoying falsetto. Musically, I think Dust to Dust is the best, and Virus never really grabbed me, perhaps I didn't give it enough time to grow on me...

Am I the only person here that actually likes Ben's vocal work?

It took me forever to get into them. But I kind of like them now. There are times when he can ruin the song though.

The thing I like about Dust to Dust album is that the bass and the double bass drums are punchy. It almost has a Death Metal sound with clean vocals

Virus- I wanted to like it so bad but just didn't do it for me

Their first album reminds me of the first Thunderstones album which is great. The only drawback on Dust to Dust is the choruses are to overdone, too happy, don't get me wrong, I love happy music in Power Metal but maybe the songs are just too long.

Let's hope this new album tears' everything apart into shreds.

I thought of the same question. I think Ben Soto is such an awesome singer especially in the ballad "dust to dust", I personally like his voice better than the singer of Kamelot.

This picture is from Dust to Dust album.

I can't wait either and granted the choruses makes you feel good (especially when your driving your car with the windows rolled down)but isn't the new Pyramaze and Dragonland more worth waiting for as well?
