I just got Gutter Ballet, and it's pretty decent. I've listened to it a couple times before but it's been years. Do they have any other albums worth listening to?

All of them except Fight for the rock, But Hall of the mountain king, The dungeons are calling, Sirens & Power of the night are really good.

Nah, Fight For The Rock is worth getting. There's some great tunes on it. "Fight For The Rock," "The Edge Of Midnight," "Hyde," and "Lady In Disguise" are killer. The rest aren't really bad, either, just a silly attempt at going mainstream 80s rock.

I don't like "Day By Day," though. It's my least favorite Savatage tune.

Either way, every Savatage album is worth getting.

Agreed with Anus.

My top 2 are easily Hall of the Mountain King and then Poets & Madmen. You should also check out Dead Winter Dead and/or Edge of Thorns to see if you like the Zak era 'tage.

It's hard to go really wrong with these guys, for example I absolutely love Wake of Magellan.

My favourite is Dead Winter Dead.

Yes, It's worth getting for any Savatage fan, but it's their worst by far. Mediocre to good, but not great as the rest of their discography. Fight for the rock (the song) is the best of the record, imo. And Day after day, Wishing well & Out on the streets (Sirens' version is far better) the songs that lower the level.

But Savatage can't make a wrong one. I just prefer Jon's singing to Zak.

Another recommendation is Jon Oliva's Pain, and Circle II Circle, and Chris Caffery, and Trans-Siberian orchestra ... Savatage children are really good too.

There's also Avatar, the pre-Savatage stuff, easily found online. Then there's Doctor Butcher and Machines Of Grace, Zak's new old band (Wicked Witch).

Streets can be over-dramatic and pompous, but it's a pretty damn good concept album. Otherwise Hall of the Mountain King is probably the best.

Edge of Thorns and Hall of the mountain king, I love their material the band is so underrated in spite of being slightly well known. If only more power metal bands sounded like them...
