Or any bands that sounds like Nocturnal Rites, Bloodbound, Heavenly, Dragonland, Virtuocity, Hibria, Beyond Twilight, Firewind, Pyramaze, Serenity, Kamelot, and Thunderstone. To all Kamelot lovers out there, on YouTube, there is a underrated Korean Power Metal band that is called Time Concerto, they did a Kamelot cover song that is incredible. Flawless. Give then a try. Please list no "overrated" bands^^, the ones I've listed is overrated enough. Thanks!-Jinsoo |

Sonata Arctica just becasue the singers sound alike. Otherwise, your list of bands is pretty broad. |

Wow! Thanks for the recommendation of Reinxeed, Auvernia and Versailles. All three grabbed my attention. This is great! Versailles is heavier than Galneryus. Alots of keyboards, full sound and full of melodies. Nice. Auvernia is the first band I heard coming from Argentina. They sound highly entertaining. Full of compositions. Reinxeed, I'm blowed away. Awesome guitarist, the bass is punchy and the drums are incredible, the double bass is really hitting it on the nail. They have the same sound like Heavenlys' Dust to Dust album. |

After a 3rd round, Reinxeed tops the gold. I didn't know they did a Stryper cover song" In God we Trust" I saw Stryper in 1985-1991. Quite passionate to see see another band do a Stryper cover with full of compassion. That is rare. Let's see, I"m new to this forum, it's great to share that I saw Testament, Forbidden, Sanctuary, Death Angel, Anthrax, Exodus, Helloween, Violence, Judas Priest, King Diamond, Megadeth, Savatage in 1987-88. Grateful to be alive in those years. Spectacular! Thank you again to let me share. |

You can try Jacob's Dream, Cydonia, Brainstorm and Labyrinth. Damn I envy you for seeing all those bands live. What an awesome experience. |

Has anyone recommended a band that's similar to Serenity yet? ![]() |

Unforuntely no, but it's cool. Evertime I listen to Serenity on my walkman, I always put Bob Katsionis right next to them, it's just beautiful music with the "heaviness" or I'll just listen to the 80's hair bands again. I tend to like the poppy and polished sound but also the non-catchy bluesy hard rcok metal like Hurricane and Keel, and now your recommendation Blue Murder. ![]() |

This thread made me actually check a band called Serenity out (Austrian, two albums, Thomas reviewed them here?) and so far so good, but just how progressive are they? A lot, a little...? |

Not very. Moreso on their first album. Like Symphony X but less neo-classical (and with a different vocal style)....or Circus Maximus but more power metal. |

Man, I better start reading your reviews. They are from Austria but I only like 3 songs from their album Fallen Sanctuary. 1)All Lights reversed 2)Rusting coming of ages 3)Sheltered(by the obscure)my all time sing along favorite, it's starts off like Rhapsody with a full orchestra symphonic overtone, then goes into this heavy catchy riff, the verse, oh so passionate with clean vocals and the ultimate chorus. So catchy and moving that will make it your favorite song for the year. Total traditional 80's cliche. Excellent songwrtiting. So I recommend "Sheltered(by the obscure) That's it! |

Yeah, more prog stylings on their first album, but their second is way better in my opinion at least though Thriven is an amazing tune. |
