Just got the Metal Strike EP, it is excellent. More excellent than any other new band out there.....like Cauldron or Enforcer.

I've heard about this band before but i never did listen to them because i thought they were just another retro-crap band, i will listen to them and post my thoughts about it later.

He's not bad....he certainly isnt great, but the vocal melodies they write are quite good. The fact that they arent the greatest musicians or singers gives it a certain charm. That's why I like it. I put it up because I thought people should hear it. My job is done.

he IS bad.
he is, in fact, as bad as it gets for a metal singer. he lacks power, his melodies are not that great and, most of all, he sticks to an annoying mid-range when the music (which is not that great either though better than his crappy vocals) obviously needs something else.

You know....he's actually not bad. I don't know what Helvetets Port myspace page you went to but this band is damn good. Swing the Studded Mace, Heavy Metal Night, and Hardrockens Forkampe are all excellent songs. I havent heard the full length or the demo, but the EP is fucking awesome. I fail to see how fans of old school metal would not like this band....and as far as saying the singer is bad....even on a purely technical level, that statement is wrong. If you don't prefer his vocals, that's one thing, but to say that he lacks vocal ability is quite another.

They have several myspace? I went with the one linked on MA...
As for the rest of your comment, I like oldschool metal, indeed, but, listening to 3 songs off their myspace I couldn't help but wondering why the worst of oldschool unenergetic metal had to be "copycated" by one band... That's quite a tour de force to be so bad.

They are a combination of Gotham City, Heavy Load, and Deep Purple. I fail to see how any of those bands are "the worst." At least those are the influences I hear.

When I was checking them out, I noticed they have a music video uploaded on Youtube:

They get props from me for holding on to all that vintage 80's tech and memorabilia. In between gigs, the band could start their own antique road show on their tour bus.

I'm sure it was deliberate. Despite how transparently retro the video is.....the music is well written. I am not a particular fan of bands that go out of their way to be as retro as hell, however, for this band, I will make an exception.
