More great power metal from Finland. Highly recommended.

Line-up:
Timo Kotipelto - Vocals
Jani Liimatainen - Guitars
Mikko Harkin - Keyboards
Jukka Koskinen - Bass
Jani "Hurtsi" Hurula - Drums

I really have to say that the clips sound really good. Kotipelto in my opinion sings better than ever before and I really mean it. Listen the clips and find out for yourself.

The generic artwork doesn't make me want to try it.
Thanks for the heads up anyway.

I don't judge a book by its cover but you gotta agree that album cover is pretty awful...

I could care less about an album cover as long as the music is solid. I've bought albums with crappy covers a bunch of times but the music was solid.

I'm sorry, but this is amazing! I hate ballads, typically, but they are so damn good on this one. And YES this sounds like early Sonata, not all the time, but I'd say most of the time. At work I'll start humming thinking its a Sonata song and then think, 'what band is that?' I have to think twice becasue I say Sonata at first, but I know it isn't, then I realize it is Cain's Offering. You're deaf if you think different.

Wow. How's that for overrating?
Kidding, Nessie, but I don't find it anywhere near as good as you say. I'm still listening to it for my review (which is taking me ages to write, fucking college apps getting in the way   ).

Well, we're not all on a mission to prove Sonata Arctica are better than Jani.

Anyone looking for a good early 2000s-type power metal album should be more than happy with this. The only thing I can't stand are the lyrics.

Let's put it this way. Like someone mentioned in the days of gays thread, Flag in the Ground is better than every song on this album. But, every song on this album is better than all the remaining songs on Days...

Kotipelto's voice sounds horribly bored to me, I just can't get over it :S

Bored? On Elegantly Broken? Our ears work differently.

I must admit that I am not a Kotipelto fan, but he doesn't really sound like Strato Kotipelto. Like I said, I'm liking everything about this and that includes Kotipelto's vocals, except for the occasional slip.

Yeah, I think he is ok, but sometimes his voice gets to me. Some songs he is awesome, but most of the time he just tries too hard. Black Diamond is an example of Kotipelto sounding good and Paradise is a song where he sounds horrible. When I saw Strato live, he would sing the high notes in a much lower tone.

Well yeah, he's not as young as he used to be (strangely enough). He definitely hits a lot less high notes on the CO album.
