Is there any other bands that write political lyrics á la Megadeth United Abominations ? I think it would be way cooler with bands exposing the new world order agenda and these these corrupted bankers than those usual mighty warrior on his mighty blessed unicorn riding through hell to save the princess from the evil Warlock King guarded by the two-headed dragon which can only be defeated by the Excalibur sword stories. ![]() |

![]() Queensryche are the only ones I can think of from the Power Metal realm offhand, I'm sure there are more. I could names loooooads of non-PM bands, but I assume that's not what you want. |

W.A.S.P. They have lyrics dealing with political issues and stuff. "Dying For The World" and "Dominator" are albums that quickly comes to mind. |

![]() Doesn't Nevermore have political views of some sort? Also, French bands Trust and Vulcain have had political lyrics, especially Trust made a speciality of it. |

They're more philosophical than political. Although they do have a couple politically-themed songs, usually dealing with drug policies (such as Inside Four Walls). |

Admittedly, I haven't really listened to that album. So I can't comment. |

Who needs political metal? Leave that to the politicians who are at least more educated than most metal heads. |

Earlier Nevermore did have some political lyrical attributes to their music later from DHIADW onward they went to more a philosophical point of view. Bands like Ministry and Kreator have been known to write about politics as well as some of the early bay area thrash bands of yesteryear. |

Yes, there's nothing worse than a bunch of uneducated morons spouting out about things they have no intimate knowledge of. That's why blabbermouth is hilarious. There's always somebody from megadeth or lamb of god talking about politics...or Phil Demmel from Machine Head. These people are for the most part uneducated morons and spend the better part of the 80's and 90's under the influence of multiple drugs. The drugs didnt prevent them from being intellegent, but their lack of education does. So they should probably just shut up. United Abominations is a good example of retarded political metal. If only Mustaine knew the intricacies of international law, then he wouldnt be able to reduce it to some moronic play on words. |
