In 2009? They have a working title called King Of Nothing.

It's going to be interesting to see if they can survive without Tolkki at the helm but this is going to be my eagerly anticipated album in 2009 and I'm excited not only to hear what's in store but to review it as well.

Startovarius? Sound like a jolly bunch, funny that I've never heard of them before! :P

SRSLY, I am actually, even though the only album I've listened to properly from them has been the s/t.

LOL I'm a victim of my own fast typing yet again

You've got to get their back catalog man albums like Infinity,Visions,Episode and Forth Dimension are classics in the symphonic power metal niche.

I have Twilight Time, Elements pt 1 and 2 and have only ever listened to a track or so off each. I'll get to them eventually.

Never liked. Or, I was in awe after seeing the solo of speed of light performed live once. Probably because I just got into guitar-playing then. Don't think I will check this out.

I'm pretty anxious to hear what it sounds like. I'd like to hear something like Fourth Dimension. Go back to a speed metal sound. :dio:

Not particularly looking forward to a new album. Considering that they haven't released anything really worthwhile since Destiny almost 10 years ago & now are missing their main songwriter (despite his obvious issues), there's no reason to set expectations very high.

Is Kotipelto the main songwriter now? His first solo album was great (probably due to lots of help from Michael Romeo) but the other ones were pretty boring.

Only got a few Strato albums. "Episode", "Visions " and "Destiny". Solid metal I might say, although some parts sounds a bit alike and it gets tiresome after awhile. The riffs and the vocal melodies (especially during choruses) sounded to my ears a bit similar. Maybe I'm gonna find the new one to be good since Tolkki isn't on board anymore.

Me too. Jens will bring a whole new element to this band... hopefully.

Hopefully, but to be honest if it's a return to the Episode/Visions era then I'll be happy as well :).

I'm very interested in hearing it but I don't hold high expectations for the project at all. Most of the time when the crux of a band departs or is just gone, the parts never seem to equal the sum. I love Timo's voice and I really enjoyed his first two solo cd's. I hope that the remaining members (with whomever the new guitarist will be) will be able to write a good solid Stratovarius album. I'm certainly not expecting anything like what the band has been churning out recently. That said, let's hope it will be an enjoyable strong effort.
