The CD is due in mid October with Ripper Owens. This gives track info, a few live videos, and a short video interview to update everyone. Ripper sounds great with Yngwie. :dio: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=103746

Malmsteen albums don't really excite me any more, Rippers probably more of a drawcard.

I'd like that either Jeff Scott-Soto or Joe Lynn Turner would join forces with Yngwie again...
Ripper with Yngwie? Sounds like a has-been gathering to me.

Most definitely. :dio: I thought Attack and Unleash The Fury were both great CD's. This is going to be a great release from Yngwie and Ripper!!

what is this like? Pure wankery with vocals? Is it anything like arpeggios from hell aka totally uninteresting?

Well, with Ripper on board, it's the most posible scenario for future Yngwie albums. (Or perhaps Mark Boals)

I really love first 3 Yngwie albums. The rest range from acceptable to mediocre wankery.

Hahaha true that, this cover is so incredibly ridiculous but.... for some strange reason I kinda like it!! It's just so very Yngwie-Malmsteenish and that makes me be optimistic for that new album. :P

For some reason Yngwie really likes to put himself on his album covers. Never really like when bands do that, I rather look at nice drawing from Mathias Noren or something..

Yngwie needs a producer, pronto. His sloppiness and the roughness of Unleash the fury made me think it sucks. If it were better produced that album could have been as good as anything he's done. This album will likely follow a similar half-assed approach. The vocals were terrible on the last one, so at least they only be generic and boring on this one.

The guy is a genius when it comes to tacky album covers. Maximum respect for having the balls to keep picking the most gay covers ever

Wow just wow. His cocky gayness covers remind me of Prince's from the 80s. They should do an album together.

Like other's have stated, enjoyed his first few CDs. Ripper's my favorite singer, so I'll definitely be checking this one out for that reason alone.

The title Perpetual Flame sounds too much like Perpetual Burn for my liking.
