Adding to the glut of Hit/Miss polls we've been having lately.... I freaking love this album. It's both my favorite DT album and IMO the best album (rock or metal) of 2003. In The Name Of God, Honor Thy Father, This Dying Soul, Stream Of Consciousness. Pretty much every song on here kicks ass. What does everybody else think of it? |

Hit. I love this album, probably because it's their heaviest. A lot of people have something against it though. |

Hit. Honor Thy Father and Vacant are pretty weak, but the rest of the songs are wicked muddafuddas. They're harder and heavier than any thrash band could ever hope to be. This Dying Soul exemplifies this. |

James LeBrie rapped for about 20 seconds on Honor Thy Father, so the apocolypse came. ![]() Seriously, though, the change from Scenes From A Memory to Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence was a lot more drastic than the change from Six Degrees... to Train Of Thought. The people who bash TOT probably shouldn't be listening to Six Degrees either, since both albums are actually more similar than they seem to realize. |

I love Six Degrees, I think it's incredibly underrated and The Glass Prison is probably my favourite DT song. I don't know what it is about ToT that I don't like, I like the second part of The Glass Prison, can't recall the title, but the rest of the songs just don't do anything for me. |

Hit. Barely. I don't think LaBrie's voice fits very well with the music. The rapping sucks, and the solos are so insanely shit at somtimes, it hurts. But the riffs on this album is fucking awesome, so are the solos that fits. the musician-ship of these fellas is stunning. |

I don't like DragonForce, and comparing Li and Totman with Petrucci is like comparing Tschaikovsky with Beethoven, or Johann Strauss to his brother, Richard, an infinitely better composer. |

One of their best, really. The shredding is so much fun to listen to. It's a lot more straightforward than Scenes From A Memory and Six Degrees, but that's not a bad thing, becuase the solos and riffs and songs are just so damn good. Too bad they took quite a plunge after this album, though. |

Too bad they took quite a plunge after this album, though. True that, Octavarium for me had 4 good songs and 4 dull ones. I'm also glad to see how open minded some prog fans are in reference to the rapping ![]() |

The rapping is the best part of that song. Afterwards, it just gets boring. |
