Awesome! New VS is always a huge event for me. As is anything with David on vocals, can't wait.

New Virgin Steele should be awesome- hopefully they've learned their lessons from their last album's failures.

I really, really need to find the time to get into Virgin Steele. I have two albums, I remember The Marriage...pt 2 being brilliant. But I just never get round to listening to them. Man, I suck.

I too have not gotten around to checking out Virgin Steele.

Recommendations as to where to start?

(Just one caveat - I am not a big fan of long songs back-to-back-to-back. Tend to not have the attention span. Will that bode poorly for my enjoyment of these guys?)

"Invictus" or any of the "House Of Atreus" albums

Damn! I'm starting to sample some cuts from different albums. This stuff kicks ass. What a voice this guy has.

So far, leading the pack has got to be The Burning of Rome (from the the Age of Consent album). Can't get enough of this tune. :dio:

Yeah, that has to be one of my all time favorite VS songs.

Can I ask, what do you figure are the strongest VS tunes on par with Burning of Rome?

In no order

Blood and Gasoline
Veni Vetti Veci
Through Blood and Fire

I could honeslty name a ton more, but those songs give me chills every time.

I Will Come for You
Victory Is Mine
Emalaith
Invictus
Kingdom of the Fearless
A Token of My Hatred

From their old period, I'd go with Don't Say Goodbye (Tonight), Tragedy and the Desert Plains cover.

Thanks for the songs fellas! As a metal head for over 25 years, finding a band like this that just somehow managed to slip through the cracks is just a killer treat!
