Mush more hard rock than metal. Normally this sort of transition has me retching, but I've got to say this song sounds damn good. Great vocal melodies.

I heard this the other day. I dig it. You knew the hard rock thing was coming after the last album. I think it's more like melodic metal, but that's pretty much just a heavier version of hard rock, so no arguments here. It is a solid tune, though.

I liked the last album. Hopefully this one is good. I think the album cover kicks ass, too.

I'm not mad keen on Allegiance, but this sounds like a superior version of the more melodic songs on that album. Apollo's voice fits better with the music here I think.

i Didn't like allegiance at all..but this sounds good. The melody is great, but it sounds just like a Highland Glory song which i can't remember the name of.

Pretty good song, I like it. Ive heard random songs by this band but I haven't given em a fair chance yet. Might do that sometime soon.

Allegiance is always in the stores around here. Might pick it up, even though it doesnt seem well liked.

I don't know about these guys. I remember smoking a joint and turning the album Allegience off after about 5 songs. I was talking with my roomate and said something about it not being that good. My roommate who's into 80's indie rock said "even for the kind of stuff you listen to, this really sucks" I think he's right about that. I haven't given it a chance since. Now I have to look at that shameful CD on the shelf as it sits next to the Fear My Thoughts album. :(

I see most of the posts describing the song as good, or decent. I'd have to say that, yeah its good, but there is nothing amazing about the song. Its played very well, but as is the case with mostsongs with super polished production, it loses a bit of its energy and passion. I give it a C+.

give em a chance man. try to find "between heaven and hell" and "burning earth" - with the old singer (Steve Fredrick). His voice is amazing, and there are some great guitar moments, and even if the production is sloppier than on Allegiance, these albums rule. I don't know what kind of metal you're into, but if you like power/heavy stuff, this is a must-have.

Heard it the other day.

Sounds OK, but nothing spectacular. Hopefully the others songs on the upcoming album sound better than this track

Ready to Strike and Dreamchaser are my two favourites from Allegiance.

The others just all seem like a repackaged version of the last song. Well except for Before the Storm. Gus G. is a great guitarist.

Listening to Firewind makes me want to listen to Dream Evil's debut album, Dragon Slayer, that Gus did the guitarwork for. He just sounds so much more fitting there.

Listening to this for the first time, and this sounds like a real return to form after Allegiance. The melodic songs work better and the metal songs are just more metal. :dio:

the only albums I can tolerate by this band are the first two and this song doesn't sound like it's going to change that.

One thing I would say is the "Maniac" cover doesn't fit. They put their own spin on it and did a good job but it just doesn't seem right with the other tracks.
