I know someone (probably Rad) made a thread about Battleheart some time ago. They have changed their name to Alestorm and apparently they will have a full-lenght debut, "Captain Morgan's Revenge" out by the end of January :omfg:

Listen to some songs here
http://www.myspace.com/alestorm

Listen to the frigging title track! What a fucking song!

At sunrise we'll all dance the hempen jig
So raise up your pint of rum and take another swig
The curse of Captain Morgan has led us to this fate
So have no fear, and don't look back, the afterlife awaits :dio:

Cool album, i listened to it a couple of times recently. The vocals kind of remind me of Dropkick Murphys at times...

I was thinking of starting a thread about these guys. Good thinking December. This debut album is going to be without a doubt one of the highlights this year so I recommend everyone to give it a listen. Finally some competition for Korpiklaani. :)

Fav. songs: Over The Seas; The Huntmaster; Death Before The Mast and the epic title song.

When I listened to them as Battleheart I couldnt get into it, the vocals were ridiculous to the point that it sounded like a joke. Listening to it now though I do enjoy it. Maybe my tastes have changed abit or maybe the band has just improved, I dunno.

'Twas me, I was thinking of hoisting the olf thread up again. My review of the album is now up on Metal CD Ratings.

The title track is indeed a fucking beast of song.

... and it's a very well-written review, in my opinion.

Here's the direct link guys:

It's started popping up for sale too. I think I saw it at The End and it's for sure over at Sentinel Steel.

Wow, I went from laughing at "pirate metal" to regretting that I laughed at something this cool. Surprising as I've never liked anything folky, now I can't stop listening to the title track. Thanks for this one!

Actually it was that review that made me discover the band. I didn't know they had changed their name and I really didn't know they had a full-length coming out. Sorry for the ass-kissing but I always read Rad's reviews.

I'm quite sad that they didn't put "Nancy the Tavern Wench" on the debut. Of course I prefer new material but damn that was such a badass song. Would have been a perfect closer.

NP: The title track for like the 20th time today. Jesus, we're more than halfway through January and we already have a very strong contender for Song of the Year!

I don't think anyone's entirely sure. She had to move away, but that's all we know.

Oh dear. If that's the case then I hope she gets better soon.

She contracted mono and one of the less serious variants of heptatis I believe. Which is a shame.

Should we all know that?
