This is my new favorite band. This band rocks so fucking hard. Can't get enough of em. Resistire, and Cuerdas de Acero are two of the greatest metal songs ever written. Caso Perdido is pretty fucking awesome too.

99.9% of the metal population would disagree with you.

Great band indeed. I have only heard "Volumen Brutal" but damn that's one fine slab of old school heavy metal. "Resistiré" and "Los Rockeros van al Infierno" are my favorite songs by them.

Fuck yeah! excellent band my friend, sure some of their lyrics can be a little childish in a manowar kind of way, but those guys sure knew how to fucking rock.

@December Flower: you should really check out "Metamorfosis" or "En Un Lugar de la Marcha" both are as great as Volumen Brutal.

@MetalStorm: Eat a dick.

Ha ha, yeah, boy was he wrong. Yes the lyrics are pretty funny, but sometimes they are really good. The lyrics from Cuerdas de Acero, Caso Perdido, Siempre Estas Alli, and Resistire are quite good and meaningful.

A great forgotten band. Their 4 first albums are very good. The rest... forgettable at best.

Songs as Concierto para ellos, Resistiré or Barón Rojo are some of the best songs in metal. But some of their songs don't stand very well the years passing... Las flores del mal, for example, sounds very meh actually.

A curiosity, there's an english version of Volumen Brutal.

If you like Baron Rojo, try Angeles del infierno, Panzer or Muro. Spanish metal of the 80's, very good.

Oh I'm sorry I must have read what you said wrong could have sworn you said those are 2 of the greatest metal songs of all time that's a pretty bold statement

I can think of a ton of songs much better then this sorry folks you like it fine but I can't stand when people come on here and claim these songs are the best when it isn't even known to much metal listeners.

Since when is Metal a popularity contest?

You know what i cant stand? when people start shitting on other people threads instead of contributing, Holy Terror has introduced to us to a lot of fucking great metal bands, and im sorry but the metal scene is not only the microcosmos you live in, Baron Rojo are fucking huge in Spain, México and some parts of South America.

@Holy Terror: have you heard V8 from Argentina? excellent Heavy Metal in the vein of Judas Priest, their first album "Luchando por el metal" may be one of the first Southamerican Heavy Metal albums, Osvaldo Civile from "Horcas" (another excellent band) played with them on their first two albums.

If you can't back up what you say then don't say it introduce this to any other metal listener and tell him that it's the best thing in the world next to sex then they are going to look at you as some sort of drugged out junkie that isn't thinking clearly.

And as far as being popular in Mexico,Spain and SA well so are Sepultura and as good as Sepultura is I still wouldn't make a comment like Arise is the best metal song in the world.

And as far as HT I've seen threads where he doesn't contribute and just trashes the hell out of a thread(that one Metallica thread is a prime example)so he aint no saint buddy

When someone says that some songs that they like, by a band you've never heard, are "some of the greatest ever," you should insert, in parenthesis, the words "in my opinion."

So, you should have read my statement like this.

(In my opinion) Resistire, and Cuerdas de Acero are two of the greatest metal songs ever written. Caso Perdido is pretty fucking awesome too.

This should clear up the confusion. Oh and by the way Metal storm, Baron Rojo, especially on the first three albums, bears a striking resemblance to Sad Wings of Destiny-era Judas Priest, and I dare you to tell any knowledgeable, self-respecting metal head, that Sad Wings of Destiny is not one of the greatest heavy metal albums of all time. This similarity makes Baron Rojo songs have a special quality for me that other bands lack. I hope this is enough to justify my opinion. Feel free to retort....in an intellegent way. Shit slagging is fun, but should be reserved for exhausted metal topics like "how shitty Metallica is."

Ok smartass back this up.

Seriously what the fuck are you talking about man?, if i say for example that Iron Maiden is "the best thing in the world next to sex" do you really think i should back it up? or would you just assume just like everyone else that is just my fucking opinion.

Thanks for the recomendation, I actually live in Spain at the moment (studying here) so it shouldn't be that difficult to find their albums.

By the way, V8 also seems to be a great band. There are some reviews on Metal Archives stating that they were in fact the first South american metal band. It also takes quite a big pair to play metal and sing about rebellion when you live in a dictatorship where all rock music was banned (which was the case in Argentina in the early 80's).
I have only heard the songs they have on their MySpace and I must say that some of those songs sound pretty damn ahead of their time for 1982. Maybe not as fast and heavy as Priest or Riot but for the South american scene at the time that must have been nothing short of revolutionary.

It's quite strange actually how spanish lyrics make it more or less impossible for bands to get recognition outside of Spain, when the metal scene otherwise don't seem to have problems with languages such as finnish or other small languages. Bands such as Baron Rojo, Rata Blanca and Mago de Oz (they just released a new album and it was everywhere, it was like a new In Flames release in Sweden) are huge in the spanish speaking world but completely unknown to the rest of the european metal scene.

Impressive stuff! I never thought Spain had much of a metal scene (my mom's from Valencia, Spain but my dad's American).
