I know Warrel Dane's putting together a solo album right now, but what's the story behind his main band Nevermore? Any information about a new album within the next year? This Godless Endeavor was amazing, so I definitely have high hopes for the next one.

Jeff Loomis is the main songwriter for Nevermore so I'd assume he's writing some more stuff. I remember him talking about a solo album too, but that was around Godless Endeavor's release :o

I wouldn't expect a new Nevermore in 2008.

When I first heard them I couldn't stand Dane's vocals. TGE is what got me into Nevermore. Awesome band.

I'm really looking forward to Warrel Dane's solo album which I guess will be his priority this year. I read he will do a cover of Lucretia My Reflection by Sisters Of Mercy and I'm anxious to hear just how heavy he made it. The song itself is killer so I expect nothing less from the cover. If you haven't heard of SOM by now you should at least try to find their compilation A Slight Case Of Overbombing: Greatest Hits Volume One. It contains some of their best songs.

Yeah his vocals take some getting used too, I find that a lot with singers who don't really sound like anyone else :o

You should hear him in Sanctuary totally different than what he is doing in Nevermore.

Into the Mirror Black is an awesome album. I think it was even produced by Mustaine.

Refuge Denied and ITMB were both produced by Mustaine.

90%? Don't be silly.

About 40% of Refuge Denied is done in falsetto, which he uses maybe once or twice and album with Nevermore.

But please, don't let facts or the opportunity for discussion get in the way of posting your smart ass comments.

I was another that disliked Dane's voice when I first heard Nevermore. I thought he sounded to melodramatic. Now I think its the best thing aboout the band (better than Loomis' madskills).

Yeah same, although some of that might be from me not really liking shredding anymore.

No more Nevermore please. Last show I caught them at ( In Flames headlined show with Evergrey at Lawrence, Kansas ) Warrel stumbled around the stage like a drunken ( or probably doped up ) idiot and completely missed about half the lyrics and called Jeff Loomis a bitch.

Lets just say that didn't impress me, especially since I've always thought they're just mediocre to begin with.

No solo Warrel and no more Nevermore, please. :dio:

Not trying to like start a war or anything, I'm just very confused as to why people like this band... But as always everyone has different tastes.

Warrel Dane was awesome when I saw Nevermore live. They kicked ass.

And I loved Dane's voice the minute I heard them. Such a great band. :dio:

I'm looking forward to see what Dane does, but I'd really like to see another Nevermore album f'sho.

I really like Nevermore, but Dane's voice still annoys me a bit. Maybe it'll click totally eventually, but for now the music is the best part about them for me. They still rule :dio:

I felt the same way at first. After about a few months I gave them another shot and loved them. Great musicuans all around. You probably just caught a bad show.

I have bad news for everyone. And yes I think Nevermore and Sanctuary sound about the same.

Warrell Dane has severe liver problems (as of 2005) and is not supposed to be drinking at all. If he is showing up on stage drunk, don't expect him to last long. That's not how I want it, but that's probably going to happen. Warrell said in an interview in 05 his doctor told him to never drink again and any further drinking is going to kill him. Let's hope he gets better and stops.

That's a silly comment considering Nevermore rarely sounds like themselves, so the comment stands.

I've heard stories about him being a mess onstage, but the two times I've seen them (the first time with only one guitarist) they were absolutely spectacular. I guess I've just been lucky.
