What about non-metal?

personally, I'd rather use rateyouralbums.com because they have damn near anything rather than limiting what you can do.

We're overwhelmed as it is just reviewing power metal (and similar styles).

Are you fat and miserable? Do you always have to point out something negative? They review power metal. It's simple. You don't have to point out that you'd rather use another site that reviews more than one style. You could have just not posted at all in this thread.

Huh? Talk about a needless post.

You're comparing apples to oranges dude. Clint's site has a staff and reviews and rates power metal. RateYourMusic is a glorified version of amazon.com

I didn't look at the site closely enough, I thought it was user-based rating site

I'm a regular and our favorite T-rex Rad is a reviewer over there, as is Trooper O' Steeeeeeeeeeeel. Good site if you want fresh power/prog/thrash/heavy metal. Clint has turned me on to some awesome stuff.

Is there a good reason this thread isn't in the Promote forum?

I say leave it, Clint is a regular here and discusses music too. This should also jog some people's memory for Power/Prog metal top 5 voting.

I understood that section to be for promoting bands only. It's actually titled "Promote your band".

Thanks, I agree.

The whole point of his post here was to plug his other site, hence it should go in promotion, imo. And I can't remember many of Clint's posts talking about music that don't plug his site. Still, I can't mod this forum, so it looks like it gets to stay here.

Seriously, it's fine with me if it gets moved over there. Like I said, I thought that section was for bands only.

I can think of numerous times where I've popped into threads to participate and help someone out with recommendations, etc.
I spent a lot of time on the topic "The ultimate Italian power metal thread!!" (for a quick example).
... and of course I'm going to mention my site, as I think it's a great place to start investigating bands (get a general idea of the style and quality), before heading off to hear samples.
:D

I like the site, I get alot of band ideas from there. :dio: Spellblast for one, which was one of my favorite albums of the year. Some people from here are reviewers over there, like Rad. I would make an exception and let him plug all damn day. But Im not a mod, soo...

Metuuullll!! :dio:
