I have not heard the entire thing yet, but i am halfway through Disc 1 and so far it has been slighty dissapointing but hey, there is still a lot more music to go, so i hope it will pick up in quality. If the entire album is as boring as the first half of disc one, i will be hugely dissapointed.

Edit 1: I have now heard the entire first disc and i must say i am not impressed at all. Very mellow for the most part (not that mellowness  is a bad thing :) ) and sounds uninspired here and there with the exception of some killer riffs and melodies towards the end of the disc. This has me worried for Disc 2, but i will post my opinions once i have heard it.

Whatever. The Dream Sequencer is my favorite Ayreon album, and that one is mellow as hell.

No, Ken thinks it's fucking lame when theives have no idea how to appreciate something because they stole it. I mean, this guy wasn't even finished listening to the album ONE TIME before he had to post something negative online.

Invest a little bit more than 20 minutes and maybe you'll learn how to appreciate things. Shit, Oct, you declared an album shit based off of 30-second clips! That's how ridiculous you younger fans are sometimes.

That new song sounds pretty kick ass to me!

Young? I'm twenty years old, thank you very much.

I haven't listened to the album yet, but the music you defend sometimes is rather... questionable. I know we all have our tastes, but come on man. Grow up. Nu-metal is ear candy for fat, sexually-frustrated teenagers.

And basing my opinion on 30 second clips is well justified -- I know what I'll be getting, and I'll know whether or not it's crap. I think you find that hard to accept, because every album must be bought and listened to for a good while, am I not correct?

I don't share the same mind set as you. If the song sounds like something I've heard before, I'm not spending sixteen dollars on it.

Wow you're so old, man! All the teenagers on these boards must be so impressed now.

I listened to this album last night. It's indeed more in the vein of The Dream Sequencer, which is great, because I love that album and was bored to death with Human Equation. The vocal ensemble is stellar, I was particularly impressed with Anneke, Renkse and Floor. Hansi seemed to way back in the mix, I was hoping for something more spectacular from his songs, but maybe they will grow. The first three songs are impressive, so is Ride the Comet. I actually can't wait to get home to play this album again.

You're an idiot. Seriously.

Listening to 30-second clips and deciding it's not something for you and openly saying it sucks are two very different things. And yes, before spouting off opinions, everyone should invest the time to get to know what it is they're talking about.

To my amazement, I totally agree with you Ken!

Did I misjudge you or is it your constant aggressive attitude that made me think you were a dickhead?

Anyway, Octavarious, STFU, please!

I agree, and I think Ayreon albums are generally hard to get into, I hated the Migrator-albums when I first heard them, but now they're two of my all time favourites, especially The Dream Sequencer.

Don't get your panties in a bunch Ken...I was just stating my opinion on what i heard thus far. I have now heard the entire thing and i have found out that aside from a few songs off each disc that i thought was pretty good, the rest didn't do that much for me. This is also the case with FOTM PT.1 where i liked a few songs, while i found the others to somewhat dull, but i absolutely loved TFE, ITEC and THE, so opinions between us Ayronauts on which album is good or not obiously differ. If you liked the album, then more power to you but could you try not to be such a dick all the time...ok? However i will be buying this for completion's sake.

Mintrude: This album is more like Flight Of The Migrator Pt.3 (Arjen could might as well called it that) then anything resembling The Human Equation.

Octavarious: You speak the truth about Nu-metal, i salute you!

Ps: KITTIE SUCKS DRAGONBALLZ!! Ya hear that Ken??? DRAGONBALLZ I SAY!! :dio:

I was more or less just using you as an example to prove a point, I wasn't really suggesting you were being super-negative. I still don't think it makes sense to be posting opinions on an album when you're not even finished listening to disc one, though.

No. No he doesn't. The guy proves day after day that he hardly knows a thing about music in general, let alone an entire genre.

So... what if I listened to some 30 second clips of Eternal Combustion?

Why are you defending Nu-metal Ken?

I thought the trend would be dead by now...but there are still a few bands that keep it alive *sigh*
