Damn, Martin Walkyier was the balls of this band.

i thought that one kinda sucked ass

Whereas before they were an awesome Folk/Thrash Metal machine, this one's a middle-of-the-road Rock album with folky bits. The songs are still good, but like I said, the sarcasm and aggression are missing. Martin W. can do no wrong in my eyes so far...

Woah, that's to much Hammerfall for me. I'd stick with "Legacy of Kings" and "Glory to the Brave." But that's just me. What do you think of Crimson Thunder?

I love it, Adam! Might be typical, might be just like their other stuff, but this kinda PM, late Edguy as well etc, even some Rhapsody, is the aural opposite of My Dying Bride - cheers me up instead of letting me wallow in it. Anyways, it was only £2.01...

Haha! Hey man, whatever works. I know I've said this many times, but I'm glad to see you branching out man. Power metal will definitely help you through some hard times, try working out to it as well. Stuff like Virgin Steele, Stratovarius, Gamma Ray, Nocturnal Rites, Blind Guardian, Cellador, Helloween, Dragonforce, and even some Heavenly all have those uplifting choruses that really get you pumped up. I'll wait until the chorus on “Veni, Vitti, Vecci” by Virgin Steele before I do my sets on the bench press, it really helps.

Oh man nothing gets my blood pumping when I workout to power or thrash metal.Whether I'm working out with the weights or punching the heavy bag, listening to some awesome power and/or thrash metal while doing it increases my intensity level big time.

I just bought Fight's War Of Words and my next workout I will blare out this classic album up way loud.

Dream Theater - Falling into Infinity
Dream Theater - Train of Thought
Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell II
WASP - Dominator

Twisted Sister - Club Daze, Vol 1 - This is pretty cool. Its an overnight recording session from before they were signed featuring the songs they played live in the late 70s and early 80s, when they still had a larger glam rock influence. Also features 3 songs written and sung by Jay Jay French - ok, you can see right away why they handed the songwriting over to Dee, but its still an interesting bit of history.

Yeah, thrash metal is also good to work out to. It has to be old school thrash though, Bounded by Blood is the best.

I really used to hate Hammerfall, ask Radagast. My respect for them went up when I heard about the singer getting glassed in a bar somewhere - if people hate them that much there must be more to them than I'd thought!

And yes, I still need to get most of what you mentioned, especially Strato, GR and Helloween. I tend to buy what's cheap, but I really must hunt more PM down...

Yeah I know, it's just a matter of getting around to it. "A Twist In The Myth" was and still is, unapolagetically my favorite album of 2006. I already had "Nightfall" and "A Night At The Opera". I also bought "Imaginations from the other Side" yesterday from Amazon.

Even going back as far as Battalions of Fear you won't be disappointed.
