How is that Angra?

Good, but kind of mellow, more orchestral than I expected. There is a pretty kickass cover of "Painkiller," though.

Yeah, the Painkiller cover is cool. You're right. The other "B-sides" are mostly mellow, but they're still good.

Yeah, I'm quite satisfied with what I could gather for my order. Some of these albums have been on my "to buy" list for a long time now, and now that I have a steady income I can finally start getting those. I'll be even more satisfied when they finally arrive though :)

So, you're a Marillion fan, eh?

Potentially. I own that album only. Haha. Since Dan Swano calls them one of his biggest influences, I decided to give them a shot, I wanted to hear what inspires one of my favorite musicians. That's the only one I've gotten so far (through lala.com) and it's great. I look forward to hearing their other material now.

Yeah, I love their 80's stuff, with Fish on vocals. Script For A Jester's Tear, Fugazi, Misplaced Childhood, Clutching At Straws, all great albums. I haven't heard their 90's stuff yet though, which is why I ordered Brave. In other words, I can't comment on how their post-Fish stuff compares to their older albums. All I can say is that every album up until, and including, Clutching At Straws, is worth getting.

Anyways, there are a few mp3's available for streaming at prog-archives.com, if anyone's interested: Marillion

Script For A Jester's Tear is an awesome song!

I bought Therion "Gothic Kabbalah" and Echoes of Eternity "The Forgotten Goddess"......I wish I had "forgotten"to purchase both of them. Total snoozefest and a waste of money. Ebay here they come!

Pfffft! Both those CDs are great! And may I suggest not buying CDs and then basically tossing them immediately. I can't even count how many CDs I disliked when I first got them, only to give them another listen days or months or even a year or more later, and then loving them! It happens. Moods can sometimes dictate your opinion of something. So give it time.

And Moonlight Agony is great. That was a random pick-up through lala.com. I saw that they had a new album coming out somewhere, and thought that CD looked cool. So I added this one a few weeks ago and just got it. I love it. Dark, progressive power metal! :dio:

You're right. I should give them more time. I've just been in the mood to have something really grab me and WOW me. I guess I was really expecting to feel that way about these two CD's due to all the hype surrounding them. It was a bit of a let down for me. Believe me, they'll never reach Ebay. That's just more of my shallow ranting... :P

Hey Eyesore I have two female fronted bands for you. Have you heard Delain's "Lucidity" yet? I really like that one. The second is a band from the Boston, Mass. area called Era For A Moment. Search MySpace for Era For A Moment. Their CD is entitled "Realize" I think you would like them. I picked up their CD from CDBaby.com.

Bah! I had a long reply typed out for these two comments, but I fucking closed out of it. These tabs on IE 7.0 keep fucking me up! Hahaha.

Basically I said Delain kicks ass (I posted about them here ages ago). My posts are underrated. Haha. And Era For A Moment are great. I've had the CD for a while now; they remind me of a great local band called Emery Vesch, who are sadly no more.
