Cydonia rules! I haven't heard anything from them in quite some time though. I really enjoyed their last album.

Are you kidding? I've provided more PROOF than anyone else in this thread! I've been listening to Helloween for like 20 years! Are you insisting that I don't know what this band is about? Get real.

No offense intended friend, but isn’t this quite a silly thing to write? You are basically saying that your theories, because of your enormous knowledge about this band, are the only truth and cannot be argued against. You also blatantly ignore my criticism.

No. It's not silly because this is what THE BAND says. Simple.

You can take whatever meaning you wish from their lyrics, but that doesn't change what the band is saying with those lyrics.

Very true, but unless you’ve actually spoken with the band about their lyrics, this doesn’t say that your theories must be more plausible than mine. The only thing we can do is interpret what we think it means, and discuss it with others. Discussing is what I want to do, thats why I answered this: ”Scion, stop. Please. Do some research.”, with this: ”Eyesore, contribute with something more constructive to the discussion or don't partake at all.”

(I also want to point out that english isn't my mothertongue so there might be some mistakes.)

I said do some research because if you did some research you would learn that my words are simply re-inforcing the band's own words. These are not personal theories.

When you guys say the next "big" power metal band do you mean big as in actuall success or big as in theyll be a strong unit? For actual market success Dragonforce can quite possibly blow up, itll all depend on how hard Road Runner pushes em. As far as underground "street cred" goes bands like Persuader, Dark Empire, Pyramaze, and Hibria will definitely be contenders. However none of the above bands will most likely ever be at the point where bands like Lacuna Coil are at today.

Conquering the US as a Power Metal band is going to be extremely hard. Good luck to Dragonforce.

I guess I'm not sure what I meant now. I think originally I wanted everybody to suggest a new and innovating band, but then it just turned into "who is the next Blind Guardian or Helloween."

Either way, I started this thread b/c the Power/Prog forum wasn't getting much attention. Plus I wanted some new bands to check out.

Yeah they rule if you're talking about The Dark Flower, which I presume is exactly what you're talking about. Their s/t was too generic in the "average italian power metal band" way.

Thanks man. I'm listening to Last Tribe right now, but I'll check them out tonight when I get off work.

BTW, I'm really liking Last Tribe. Catchy stuff. I've found about four great new bands since this thread started.

Hey man, just because they have Christian themes in some of their songs shouldn't make you enjoy them any less. I've never found them to be overbearing with it.

They don't have many chriastian-themed songs, some might seem christian but all of those don't have to be interpreted as strictly christian at all.

An important thing to remember is that we can mean a lot of different things when we say "christian" aswell. It's vague wordings.

And I also want to say that i'm a christian myself, well not really, but you could say partly. I believe in some God or a higher power etc. because of things I have personally experienced. I don't go to church or read any holy book or any such shit but im a believer.

The difference with Helloween and other bands is that they're not writing these lyrics for other people. Many Christian bands write their lyrics with the clear intent of spreading their message of God. Helloween write more personal lyrics, they're more poetic and can have different meanings for other people, the Christian theme isn't so in-yer-face! But if you ever hear the band discuss their lyrics they're very pro-Christian, like I said before, The Dark Ride is their most Christian themed album, it's just the nature of the lyrics, the title and the heaviness of the songs throws people off. There's not really anything "dark" about the album.

agreed.

Listen to Seventh Avenue or Majestic Vanguard. They are spreading the word of God.

Helloween are not that obvious. They don't want to push their beliefs on others, or so it seems. My brother has been a fan of Helloween for almost a decade now. I'd actually call him a pretty big fan boy. He reads almost all interviews, reviews... and he has told me the same thing Eyesore has been trying to get across.

Keep in mind that The Dark Flower is somewhat of a modern thrash/power than the standart italian power on their s/t. It's much different from the debut.

That's ok. As long as it's good metal, I'll take it. I really don't mind a band putting out something that's a little different as long as it's listeneable.
