Well, set aside whether or not you or I feel its any good (we both obviously feel that it isn't), it was a critical success, and popularized metal to the mainstream kids of 90's the way few, if any, other albums did. Couple that with the fact that I'm sure a good many of today's young bands list it as an influence on them, and it meets the criteria, even if it does suck...which it does.

I agree with everything you said, Adam. Still, the fact that it is not a good album keeps me from considering it a classic.

I'm with you on that. I will never review an album as a classic that I don't think is good.
