WiC, do you and your fellow Edguy haters ever have anything to say about the band besides "their gay" or similar type of insults? I guess I just don't see how they're more "gay" than any other power metal outfit. Just a question.

I am not an Edguy hater, I was just replying to to someone who thinks Edguy is the best thing since sliced bread and is beter than bands like Grave Digger, Running Wild and Rage. And the reason people call them gay is because their songs and vocals are too happy, and metal was never meant to be happy.

None of us said Edguy was the next best thing since sliced bread, but they are better than Grave Digger, Rage & Running Wild.
Happy vocals? You are describing almost half of the power/epic metal bands that are out there.

I agree with that. Now, if a black metal band came out with happy vocals....well that would be both scary and gay. Black and death metal aren't supposed to be jovial. Power metal is a different animal though. I don't see how Edguy's lyrics are any gayer than, say, Manowar or a host of other great power metal groups.

yeah probably the half that I don't really like. Seriously what are these bands thinking trying to sound happy? Happy metal is just lame.

Yeah, I bet you think Edguy is better than Dio, Manowar, Motorhead, Jag Panzer, Virgin Steele, Falconer, etc. too.

Who gives a crap whether a band sounds "happy" or not? They still play hard and fast and you can bang your head to. Its not like they have happy lyrics, like sunshine, lollipops, kittens and rainbows.
Your black metal is different. If you dont like the genre, then thats your opinion. If you prefer your little world to be black, depressive, vile and angry....then good for you.

I think Edguy is on the level of Manowar and Falconer. Never was a big Jag Panzer fan, they're okay though. However, I doubt I'll ever think Edguy holds a candle to either Dio or Motorhead.

I'd put Edguy above all those bands....just a smidgen above Manowar. Not saying those bands are crap. I dont mind Falconer as they are different. Motorhead are always good, you gotta love Lemmy. Dio's older stuff is better. Virgin Steel are alright but Jag Panzer are getting worse with every album...

MY black metal? I am a Power and Heavy Metal fan, but those happy bands and their fans really annoy me, all you dumbasses think bands like Edguy, Dragonforce, Freedom Call, etc. are so damn great, it is ridiculous.

Don't kid yourself, man, you're kvlt, grim and krieg and that's all there is to it!

Thats because bands like Edguy, DragonForce & Freedom Call are damn great. Look at the reviews they get, very high, almost perfect scores.

you can like it all you want, but don't come to a message board proclaming that some happy ass metal band is better than actual metal bands, bands that are very good. This thread was about 3 bands, yet this asshole come over and highjacks the thread with his favorite band: Edguy.
