I would have extended The Chase to be the epic on the album. Not much of a chase at only three minutes long. Still a great song, I just feel that it gets cut off way too soon.

I feel the same way about a few of the songs, far too short. They would have been served better if they combined multiple songs or just made a few of them longer.

All right, I just listened. All in all, its not bad, and better then I expected. There are some very good songs on here (The Hands, The Chase, I'm American, An International Confrontation). Nearly every song except a few have a nice lead or a good idea in them, but there are a few very crappy ones (Speed of Light is especially atrocious). All in all, I give it a 60/100. Certainly the best since Promised Land.

"Speed Of Light" is indeed pretty bad. Such a "Kashmir" rip-off riff, and just a boring song. My favorite is "Re-Arrange You." "Signs Say Go" is another cool one, "Murderer?" is a song that grew on me, at first I didn't like it at all, but after a few spins I found it to be quite excellent. It's just a little chaotic at first.

I'd score it much high after the initial listen, but I'll wait for the real CD to be released. I hope whoever reviews it here puts the time in.

Ya, Murderer was one which I found too weird for my tastes, but who knows if I'll like it on repreated listens? Re-Arrange You was all right, but I didn't find it to be anything special. Signs Say Go was pretty good as well. I definitely agree with your review; a lot of this is reminiscent of recent Queensryche, but with better songwriting. I'll give it another listen or two and consolidate my opinion.

Well I wasn't impressed at all with the song they posted online, but I downloaded the chase (any excuse for RJD) and I think its pretty good.

Anyway, all this Queensryche talk made me listen to the original Operation: Mindcrime again. Its still overrated. :P

I found out yesterday that not only are Queensryche playing the Sweden Rock Festival in June, but they will be performing the whole of Operation: Mindcrime in their set.

A festival and their playing a full album? Damn. That's cool.

Apparently they're going to go on tour and play both Mindcrime albums back to back with theatrics, actors, visuals, etc. Sounds fucking cool.

Not Geoff, lol. More dates will come, I wouldn't panic because there's no specific date yet.

I'm listening to this right now. I'm on Speed of Light. You guys are right about that one, it blows. Overall not too bad so far.

It's not that "Speed Of Light" is so bad, it's just boring and borrows from "Kashmir" heavily. What's the point? The ending is the worst, the little sampled bit, that part is terrible. Give it more spins, it got a lot better with each spin for me (the CD not the song).

I think they're doing Monsters Of Rock, or something. Anyone seen the video for "I'm American" yet? It's terrible.

http://music.yahoo.com/ar-262066-videos--Queensrche

I don't know if they were going for an old school, 80's feel, but if not I can't call this a good video.

well, the video's not THAT bad... and of course it's nice to see a big band like queensrÿche bash american capitalism, consumerism and the so-called "War on terror"... anyway yeah it is kind of like an 80s video... the songs good though i downloaded OMII yesterday but i've only given it one spin. It's good, not like OM, but better than some of their other, progressive stuff. To me Queensrÿche will always be kind of a crossover between maiden and floyd
