I think the song is pretty kick ass!!

Will probably get this when it is released, as far as progpower goes, it simply does not get better than PM. I think we need more progpower bands here in Norway. The BM scene here is getting seriously crowded. Some more trash would not be bad either. The trash bands that i know of that we do have kicks some mighty ass. Case in point: Nocturnal Breed, Pica Fierce, Harm, Blood Tsunami and uh.....shit my mind is drawing a blank here....well....there are more good trash bands here anyways, just can't remember them right now hahaha

Circus Maximus, now there is a release people should be talking about. Holy crap does their new album rule.

I really like the song sample..thanks for posting it. I've been a fan of Pagan's Mind at least for the past 3 years. I have the 1st and 3rd CD's. I need to pick up Celestial Entrance. I was hoping they would continue on. Didn't they lose their guitarist ( he passed away right?) a year or so ago?

I love the singers voice. He has a very peculiar way of singing but I love it.

And we also got the really great band from my hometown: Magic Pie, their new album Circus Of Life is probably the best prog album i've heard thus far in 2007 along with Neal Morse's Sola Scriptura.

He is talking about Thorstein Aaby. He quit somewhere after Celestial Entrance because of some illness, don't know the details. He passed away a few months back.

Btw new album has leaked so i'm gonna try it this evening. I hope it can stand up to their last two albums.

I'm sorry for causing any undue alarm. That is who I was speaking of..thanks Pyroman. I must have read the story too quickly or my memory is getting worse. I thought that the story spoke of Pagan's Mind's latest guitarist. Again, thanks for the save Pyro!

You know, I think I'm going to look it up real quick so I can finally get it straight myself.

This is what I found in the blog area on Pagan's Mind's official MySpace:

Thorstein Aaby
03.04.1971 - 24.07.2007

On the night of 24th of july, our dear friend Thorstein passed on.
After a long time of illness, things took a turn for the worse the last weeks.

Thorstein has been a respected member of the local musicenviroment since the mid-eighties,later nationwide and also outside of norwegian borders-all well deserved.
Well known for his skills with the guitar as well as his easy going personality - he was the kind of guy who got more and more friends for each gig he did.

Thorstein did two albums while he was in Pagan's Mind; "Infinity Divine" and "Celestial Entrance",and after parting with the band Thorstein quickly moved on and joined Smalltown Rockets.
Smalltown Rockets appeared on the norwegian KISS-tribute ;"God's of Thunder", with the track "C'mon and Love Me".

The last couple of years Thorstein has handled the guitar-duties in the Mötley Crüe tribute-band Wild Side.
Wild Side also recorded some of their own material.

This is a sad,sad day and all our thoughts goes out to Ingvild and the rest of Thorsteins family, and also to his big network of friends and fans.

Rest in peace,dear friend.

We will always miss you,and we will never forget you.

Nils,Ronny,Viggo,Stian & Steinar.

After just one listen this ends in my prog list for the year as number 2, just below the new Threshold. It kicks this much ass. I believe this is their most accessible album. It is all there - great thrashy riffs, killer perfomance from Nils K. Rue and hooky choruses. I think fans of Enigmatic Calling will like this too if not more. Killer album by a killer band.:dio:

I didn't care much for Celestial Entrance. Any chance I'll like this one?

All of their albums are great imo but it wasn't until Enigmatic Calling that their sound became heavier and more accessible. Celestial Calling needs some time to grow on you, I personally find it the band's most complex record. If you liked Enigmatic Calling i'm sure you'll like the new one too. God's Equation is the most straight forward album they've released.

And it sounds great doesn't it. I really liked songs like that on Enigmatic Calling, especially Supremacy, Our Kind. Alien Kamikaze is one of my fav. songs from the new album together with Spirit Starcruiser and God's Equation. But really all songs are great, I can't find a single filler here.

yes it is totally awesome... but by now i like enigmatic calling better.. but i'll give it a few more listens today...

celestial entrance have som amazing songs like trough osiris eyes, dreamscape lucidity and aegan shores, but as you say some of them are complex and hard to love the first listens... i have not listened much to infinity divine... but i do not have the remastered version, so the production and the sound are bad...

Video for Atomic Firelight on their myspace, been there for some time, but in case someone hasn't seen it:

http://profile.myspace.com/pagansmind

Kickass song, video is nothing really, I guess it makes the first listen a bit more interesting. I'm just glad they didn't try out anything fancy, metalbands trying to make a point in a video is bound to fail.
