Instead of making a new thread, I'll just post it here, no need to have several Blind Guardian themed topics going.

Anways, next to Six Feet Under, this is officially one of the worst covers of a song I have ever heard. Galadriel doing The Bard's Song - The Hobbit by Blind Guardian. How someone could fuck up this song is beyond me, but they manage to turn it into an extremely boring song.

Well... I kind of like it. No, I definitely like it. They retain enough of the original feel of the song, but bring a little of their own in it, especially through the growl used for the more aggresive parts and the female voice for the softer ones. And I do like this guy's growl.

If you wanna hear a bad cover, in my opinion, try Graveworm's version of Losing My Religion.

And to whoever said he thought Opera is their undisputed best: do yourself a favour and pick up Imaginations, Nightfall and Tales.

Imaginations: Don't have it, want it.

Nightfall: It's certainly a great album, but the interludes get annoying, and some of the songs are actually somewhat weak. Still great, though.

Tales: Don't have it, want it.

ANATO is still my favorite Power Metal. :dio:

I like the interludes on NIME. But I read Silmarillion and pretty much everything Tolkien wrote, so they make perfect sense to me. I really think NIME is an album better enjoyed if you did read the book.
A few somewhat weaker (or less magnificent) songs can be found on ANATO as well, so they're even in this respect. But I feel the best songs on NIME are superior to the best on ANATO.

However, there is not a single weak note on Imaginations, try and really search for that one. It's in my top 5 metal albums since the day I first listened to it, and probably will forever stay.

I really liked NIME, ANATO, and IFTOS. I say start of with any of these 3.
