I never could get into Helstar.... I haven't listened to them since the 80's when they certainly were considered as a 3rd rate band... :roll:

After listening to most of James Rivera's project i can safely say the best is Distant Thunder. Its not to different in style to Helstar, Destinys End or Seven Witchs, but IMO the excution is far better! but i'm aware a lot of people disagree.

Bland?!? Oh c'mon the guys' performance on Nosferatu is some of the most operetic metal vocals ever recorded!

Btw did u know helstar played live in Cyprus a couple of years back? My friend Greg from Eat Metal records Greece brought them over, and it went quite well, more than 100 people showed up, which is propably more than they get in the states!
