yeah.. my favourite track of theirs is probably Resistance from Empire. I don't know, this new batch of songs is pretty disappointing.

I don't know, compare to Q2K and Tribe these are excellent songs. The album is growing on me a lot. It's just nothing like the old stuff, and honestly, it's different from Q2K and Tribe, as well.

I don't expect a lot of people who like the old stuff to like this, though.

I listened it today. Not great (far away from the big big times) but better that anything from promised land to now. The main problem, for me, it's the name, all that OM means.

If there were different lyrics, and not OM in the record name, perhaps I'll find it more suitable.

But well, tomorrow I'll give another try, to see if grows on me after listening more times.

Yeah, but Operation Mindcrime is a story, so I'll continue to say that the story is the most improtant thing here. I think Operation Mindcrime II is just lazy, they should have named it something else and had OM II as a subtitle.

I just got this the other day and have probably listened to it 4 or 5 times now. At first I wasn't too crazy about it, but I think the more I listen to it the more I like it. It is starting to grow on me.

With all the semi-negative feedback (and the positive describing music I don't like), I'm just going to wait till it comes back and listen to it with the lyrics, so that if the music sucks, I'll only have to listen to it once to get the story.

I posted a link to a song here. Check it out.

The addition of Slater and Stone to the songwriting team no doubt having an impact on that, but to these ears—ears that have enjoyed their latest output—it was a good change. I can speculate on how it would sound with Wilton, Jackson and Rockenfeld having more to do with the writing, but at this point the only thing I can assume is that they had more to do with the sound on the latest albums than Geoff did. I've always blamed him. Maybe I was wrong.

Actually, you were quite correct. Tate DID have most of the effect as far as the sound on the last few albums. Slater and Stone gave the other 3 more leverage on this album. The last few albums have been "led" by Tate, due to his ego. It alone is the reason Soulbender and Slave To the System exist.

Also, song-writing credits are not always what they seem. Don't think that just because there are few spots besides the S/S/T combo on the writing credits, that the other 3 didn't have their hand at creating the tracks.

I love the new album! Queensryche is back as far as I'm concerned. There's a bit of filler, but this album is a solid 8/10. Gotta love Dio as Dr. X......it just fits.

Yeah, "Spead Of Light" isn't that great, "Convict" is 8 seconds of nothing, the intro is useless. I just wish there was one epic song here. Like, I think they should have combined The Chase, Murderer? and maybe An International Confrontation. That would have made one killer song.

I would have extended The Chase to be the epic on the album. Not much of a chase at only three minutes long. Still a great song, I just feel that it gets cut off way too soon.
