X Factor is good, but I maintain that Virtual XI blows donkey testicles.

They're no doubt the best band in the world!!
Up the irons!

Yet another shallow anti-Blaze comment. You are not a true fan of Maiden if you refuse to accept those two OUTSTANDING albums.

Those 2 albums are better than the the following Maiden albums: Fear Of The Dark, Brave New World, Dance Of Death, No Prayer For The Dying & Killers.

If you want to experience everything Maiden has to offer, check out the Blaze-Maiden era as well as the Bruce and Di'Anno era. Make your own opinions.

Can't say I agree with that....I think they're the greatest metal band ever, but I'll recognize that Blayze era Maiden is absolute shit....Virus is the only good song and its just a recylced riff that makes it good, its the riff from The Lonlieness of the Long Distance Runner. So yean, not ALL Maiden is good, when Adrian Smith left they got kind of crappy too.

and how are those two albums better than Killers??? That is absolute heresy!!! I will not stand for it. Killers was the first perfect album they put out.

Killers is quite repetitive. One of my least favourite Maiden albums despite some outstanding indivdual tracks.

there is no way you could call these albums are outstanding. They are alright, and part of maiden heritage, but they still have some gaping flaws. the production values are shocking, and while there are a few standout songs, i have a great deal of trouble sitting through a whole album.

My eyes almost popped out of my head on that one too.

imo Iron Maiden is such a great band, you should just start buying their albums in a chronological order up to Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, which is their creative peak. They lost it after that but their following stuff are still worthy, but i'd rather check out other NWOBHM bands instead. and less melodeath :)

Why? Killers is an incredible album, better than the debut and Number of the Beast and anything after Seventh Son too.

I was agreeing with HT. I love Killers. I was referring to the statement that the Blaze albums are both better than Killers. What's your feeling on the 2 newest albums?

Killers is good, but the least best next to all the rest. Only 2 awesome tracks (wrathchild, murders in the rue morgue), the rest are just ok to good...nothing else stands out. Their debut is easily far better than Killers.
X-Factor may have production problems, but it doesnt stop me from enjoying the album.

The most popular will probably be Powerslave and Seventh Son, which are the best 2 Maiden albums anyway. Next up would be either Piece Of Mind or Number Of The Beast. Then I'd give Somewhere In Time a listen, its an underrated album that doesnt get praised as much as it deserves.

I absolutely agree. Somewhere in Time is probably in my top 3. Caught Somewhere in Time and Alexander the Great are awesome songs.

Well thats your opinion and you're entitled to it, but i think you're wrong. Killers was the first absolute classic they released. I also like it better than the Bruce Era maiden because its more aggressive and gets pretty thrashy...especially in purgatory. Also the album has a more NWOBHM feel than the later stuff. Again its just a matter of opinion, but I'd probably list it in my top three maiden albums, next to Piece of Mind and Number of the Beast. Powerslave is good, but its not as good as the three I just mentioned. it does however have some of the greatest songs ever written on it. But its a complicated issue.

I actually enjoy them very much. I liked Brave New World a lot more than Dance of Death, but Dance of Death was quite a good album too. What about you?

They're both good. I like Dance of Death better, just because it seems to have more traditional Maiden elements, most noticeably more speed. Brave New World is awesome too. My only problem with it is that I feel it tries to go in too many directions. Its understandable though. Being the first album with Bruce and Adrian back, maybe they were just a little too ambitious. On Dance of Death, the new lineup seemed to mesh better, at least to my ears.
