I ahave to agree with Holy Terror once again on this one. Gus is a great guitar player, but he is no doubt doing this for the $and hype and to gain mass exposure, prolly not a bad thing for his career, but I do not expect the tunes to work out. Will see tho.

Well....the last album OZZY did that was listenable was "No more tears". Ok, "Ozzmosis" did have like 3 good songs...
The albums from the 80´s are damn great but I have no hopes on this new album.
Going to see him though on the tour, hope for only 80´s songs and Sabbath songs!

Man, you fuckers LOVE to whine about Ozzy. He WAS fortunate to play with some brilliant musicians over the years (Sabbath, Randy Rhodes, etc.) But he was also a great front man, a colorful personality, and owner of a unique (I'm not saying "great" because that's subjective) voice.

He's as big of a part of the history of metal as anyone (Dio - whom is a class act and one of my all time favorites) included.

Finally, and I don't care who the fuck wrote the songs, or composed the riffs, or pushed him into the spotlight, he deserves respect for being the singer of those legendary songs too countless to mention here (everybody knows them).

So if you don't think he has anything left, great. Don't buy the new album. But no need to trash him. He's fucking OZZY.

*Waits for Trapt go come in and make a point about Ozzy, Target, union labor, and sweat shops in Indonesia. All while Noodles claims that rock/metal singers are talentless hacks compared to those that sing in Gospel Choirs*

Producing 10+ years of average to crappy music means you get to get criticized.

Not when you've been part of 25 years of absolutely legendary music (to the genre) before that.

No artist keeps up the same level of quality as their peak years.

Most artists know when to quit.

Why should he quit? He's doing what he enjoys. Screw anyone that doesn't like the quality of his current output. No gun to your head to buy it.

It's been years since Ozzy has released a good album (No More Tears, that is), still, I haven't lost all faith that he might come up with something good some day... Maybe a new Black Sabbath? :dio:

Everyone is %100 entitled to trash Ozzy. Never before in the history of the music business has there been a greater "hanger on" than Ozzy Osborne. The man has an average voice, no song writing ability, DID NOT WRITE MOST OF THE LYRICS FOR BLACK SABBATH, or any of the riffs for that matter in any of his bands. WHen he did start writing lyrics we got such gems as "Mr Tinker Train." Gah! Let's face it, there was some good stuf that he was a party of, but to say that he deserves credit just because his name was on the release is retarded. If Ozzy Osborne hadnt had the extreme good luck of hooking up with Black Sabbath (all of whom are tremendous musical talents) he never would have been shit. SO when he was thrown out of Sabbath, he used the fame behind his name to wrangle in a new set of grunts to do all the work for him while he put out mediocre lyrics and sang in a pretty decent way. But let's face it, the man is no earth shattering talent. He is the prime example of a guy who had the good luck of being in the right place at the right time, and then riding the coat tails of fame and world class talents on through the ages. The only thing Ozzy should be respected for is for managing to stay alive for all these years. As far as the music goes, there are people far more desrving of the credit than he is.

Rather than write a novel in response to this post, I'll just say, "Fuck that!" Any metal fan who doesn't have some modicum of respect for Ozzy for who he is, and his place in metal history, is a douche, in my humble opinion. P.S. Mr. Tinkertrain is a kick-ass song.

OK, rather than criticize him, I'll just ignore him. Since we obviously aren't allowed to say how bad his last few CDs are.

He might not have the best singing voice, but he certainly has charisma, and he added that special touch to the old Sabbath that wouldn't be there if it weren't for Ozzy, so I respect him greatly for that.

But now it seems like he's little more than a puppet being controlled by Sharon. Oh well, at least we still have Sabbath.

Hmmm I don't recall saying that or even coming close to insinuating that that's what I meant. But I guess that's all the evidence tha I need to see that you have no good argument in response.

I didn't display an argument because it would be a waste of time to rephrase your whole post with and opposite opinion.
