Sorry but the chorus and the curling video for that song are just so intensely lame. It's a real head scratcher that one is.

[quote="Holy_Terror"]Also, since no one checks the Promote Your Band section I'll plug away here. My new band needs a good power metal/traditional metal session vocalist ala Anders Zackrisson. Help a brotha out.[/

Great early power metal. They and early Blind Guardian got me into the music of power metal. Classic stuff.
you may need to find a 40 year old with a bit of a 70s vibe and some range to pull that off. Good luck if you find it. he has a bit of a Paul Dianno vibe and of course the accent may be hard to match up.

Thanks man. Yeah you're totally right. Anders Zackrisson would be the ideal choice if he were stll singing and willing to sing for an American band.

I like Hearts on Fire.

Rhapsody was mentioned in general but how about a specific example.... Forest of Unicorns. Ugh.

Cheesiness is a huge reason why I don't listen to much power metal.

I enjoy laughing at the lyrics and the overdone choruses. It kind of brings out the kid in me. Plus, it is great for the gym. When you're on your last leg of a work out and you feel like you can't go on anymore, "Rage of the winter mold the horizon cover the mountains forest and lakes Rage of the winter magical wonder enchanted fury majestic force" or "Heart of an eagle He flies through the rainbow Into a new world and finds the sun Spreading his wings Above all the sorrows The glory of Eagleheart" hits your ipod and suddenly you gt a huge burst of energy. Or even if you're in a damn good mood and you want something to jam out to, power metal my friend.

Yeah. It's good to get the cheese from a serious context at least. To some people that gives it credibility and for others, i guess that just makes it even sadder and laughable.

I listen to Death Metal and Thrash when I work out. But I could see how the whole sword and sorcery atmosphere can make your last set of squats seem like the Battle for Minas Tirith :P

I think Sonata Arctica and Dragonforce for me has some cheesy lyrics, specially over the past few releases from these 2 bands. Heck you can say that about many power metal bands unfortunately. haha :dio:
