You dig it? Up to his usual standards, I think. Great stuff.

I love it. Problem is, I don't understand why this guy does any projects; they all sound too similar. I mean, outside of Vengeance and Bodine, and his one-time solo album, everything has pretty much sounded like Ayreon.

Well Ayreon is a concept band wich follows a certain story (minus actual fantasy), the story kinda finished with the last one so it wouldnt made sense to call this band Ayreon, plus most Ayreon fans are used to hear a lot of different "big" name vocalist on the albums, so i could only imagine the kind of backslah Arjen would get if he treated this album as the next proper Ayreon, silly i know but the same thing happened with stream of passion i believe if he would call that band Ayreon everyone would be like "OMG worst Ayreon ever!", in the end the smart thing to do is to give the bands different names.

Oh and i dont agree completely about the bands sounding too similar, take Star One for example, the band was made with vocalist and musicians that all had worked in Ayreon before and it sounds nothing like Ayreon, sure the similarities are here and there but the mood is completely different.

Sure, there are differences, but I still think they all share very similar sounds and styles which scream "ARJEN!"

Thats true i mean its not like they're different genres, they do sound alike but there are enough differences both musically and conceptually wich makes sense to not call all his other projects Ayreon IMO.

Anyway i havent heard this one but im a huge fan of Arjen, with the exception of Stream Of Passion, i dont like metal with female vocals only (with a few exceptions) so i really cant wait to hear this.

I've always found this sort of thing odd. You're not the only one out there to say it. But like many others, do you not listen to metal bands with dudes that sound like chicks?

Do you mean like high pitched screaming kind of singing? if so yes but i also like girls who do that type of singing, what im talking about is more like the girly and soft kind of singing (Marcela's in this case), in Ayreon it works for me because it contrasts the harsher more aggressive parts of the music but when is only those kind of vocals i find it too mellow for my tastes.

I've waited and waited for this album, and I'll be waiting until It's in my hands. Arjen simply can't do anything wrong.. since Universal Migrator, I've been his number 1 fan. He's simply the best! why can't people just open their eyes and notice his masterpieces. :D

I wont speak like everyone should have Arjen on top of everything else, but he sure tops my world. Beside the man behind Opeth off course. Thanks for making this project Arjen!

I'm sorry I made it sound like I didn't like them, as I do like them very much. My point was that there was tiny things missing on the record. I would not call it big mistakes or anything.. but it evolved greatly. Maybe it's just because of the sound quality too though. I'm a huge fan of The Final Experiment, Into the Electric Castle and Actual Fantasy. And they are all on my top 50 albums list

So my apologies!

No need to apologize man, i totally get your point, its just that for me nothing beats Into The Electric Castle and seeing how you are a huge Ayreon fan like me i wondered why you didnt like it, lets just agree that Ayreon is awesome and leave it like that.

Gulit Machine is pretty good stuff. Very ambient and the vocalist reminds me alot of Freddie Mercury, actually.
