Does Jon sing on "A Gift Or A Curse," though? Sounds like it could be Matt. It's not like any of us know. I didn't even get the promo for this one.

He does sing the verses with Matt backing him up. Like the "I feel a heavy burden.." part the song starts with. Matt sings the "Am I a gift or a curse" chorus. Here's a link that confirms it:

And yes he sings Stormrider, parts of Burnt Offerings but also God of Thunder on the Tribute to the Gods cd. I think he's a very capable singer and would love to hear him sing more.

I've been listening to this pretty much non-stop for the past 3 days :dio:. A Gift Or A Curse and Come What May kick so much ass I can't even put it into words!!!!! Also, I don't think I've ever heard Matt sound as brutal as he does on parts of this album. If I didn't know any better I'd swear that they got Satan himself to do some guest vocals :dio:.

Something's always told me he wanted to take over as vocalist after Gene Adam was booted out but that he decided against it in the end...

Anyway, I look forward to this one. Part I was very good and the promise of beefed up production and a bit more guitar interests me plenty.

They're going to re-record Framing Armageddon with Matt for a box set to come out at the end of next year. Sweeeeet!

What?! antother boxset? Slave to the Dark just came out this year thats ridiculous, Framming Armageddon with Matt sounds like a great idea but i hate the idea of having to buy the album twice, thats just wrong, its like Jon telling the fans "Hey guys remember that album you all bougth called Framming Armaggedon? yeah you know the one i told you it was the best thing ever remember? well i lied, this is the real deal so please buy yourself another copy"

On top of that it's almost like they're slapping the face of Owens making it sound like his accomplishments in the band were for naught.

I was kind of hoping that Iced Earth would release the album with Matt on vocals, even though I consider Tim to be my favorite singer. It'll just make the 2 albums flow better. It's probably a fairly straight forward process anyways, so why not.

I wouldn't even care about buying it again with Matt on vocals, it may be the same songs, but with a different take on them with a different vocalist will make things, well, different. Easily worth a purchase IMO.

Well, the Slave to the Dark box set is a Century Media release. Iced Earth had nothing to do with it. Beyond their control. As for Framing Armageddon, Jon said the plan was to always release the albums, and then later release a deluxe edition combining the two with some more artwork and expanded liner notes and the interludes left off of part two. He said now that things got fucked up with the two singers, it makes sense to have Matt redo vocals for part one.

There's a press conference on their MySpace page. Go check it out. It's a cool presser, and I don't think Jon is trying to screw the fans over at all. I think he's trying to give them something great. And you can't deny that parts one and two hardly flow together now. They both sound too different, even if the music style is the same.

And Jon makes a point to say he's not trying to erase Tim's work, because he thinks Tim did a killer job. He just says these two album need continuity.

I think Matt needs to redo part one, and then Tim needs to redo part two.

I see what they're doing and kind of wanted them to do it, but at the same time its still asking the fans to spend more money.

I'd originally hoped they'd do a two-disc version of Part II with the re-recorded Part I but I guess that would have harmed the sales of Part I too much.

Look dont get me wrong, i really want to hear Framming Armaggedon with Matt on vocals, still i think that it should be offered for free, a different vocalist and a few minnor changes doesnt justify paying full price for the album, worse is that its gonna be available on frikin Box Set, so im gonna have to pay a box set price just to hear FA with Matt, and oh yeah some new artwork, look my problem is that i love Iced Earth so im probably gonna end up buying it still i dont think its fair to the fans.

Fair? That has absolutely nothing to do with it. This sort of comment is one of the biggest problems with music fans. No one owes you anything! Just because you bought Framing Armageddon with Tim on vocals does not mean the band is now obligated to give you another version with Matt on vocals for fucking free!

You probably never bought Framing in the first place, and even if you did you paid about $15. Suck it the fuck up. When 3% of album sales go to a band (if they're lucky), no arrogant fan should think they're owed a goddamn thing. If you don't think a re-recorded version of the album is worth the price, you're an asshole. And stealing it after makes you a bigger asshole.
