Little bit of both.

Unless he's totally changed his style you must be deaf to think that whiiiiiining sounds anything like power metal vocals.

Power Metal's all about whining. It's Nu Metal for people with long hair.

I knew someone would bite.

Seriously, Into Eternity don't sound particularly whiny to me. I'll keep listening, in the hope that the whinyness makes itself manifest to me.

I don't hear the whining either, but I can imagine it sounds whiny to some people because of the contrast between the growl and clean.

The only whining I hear is coming from the big green dinosaur named Radagast.

Disregard, Rad. They're more popular now, so he has to insult them.

Wow, there are some really fucking weird songs on this one. One song sounds like Secret Sphere, another like Dream Theater, and one kind of like In Flames.

Personally I think they switch between vocal styles way too often, it sounds really stupid at times.

They have great guitars though, like usual.

They're a good band, but it's embarrassing to ever listen to them to other people around. Some times they sound like a really cheesy metalcore band. They were sort of a phase for me. I loved them for two weeks, now I can't listen to them.

Yeah. Take it from Ken; he's not embarrasssed to listen to Kittie and Linkin Park around people. I'd say he has the biggest balls of them all.

I lied. I never listen to music on anything but headphones. I do find his vocals absurdly annoying though, and the lyrical subjects laughable. Timeless Winter is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard, though. None of that changes the fact they're silly fuckers, though.

Uhhh....yeah. Cause I'm a shit-talker, right?

I guess we'll just ignore the fact that first time I even heard of the band was when I bought a Century Media compliation CD from 2004. The song was "The Beginning of the End"and the first thing I thought was "wow those clean vocals are shite." I listened to "The Scattering..." because I had heard they changed vocalist and hoped he would be an improvement but it was the exact same problem.

So you can go and raffle yourself, fudbaws.

Haha. You're SO predictable. I knew, out of all the replies, you would pluck mine out of the lot and reply to it. You come across about as happy as a Carribean sugar plantation slave circa 1780.

Ok I heard a few IE songs today and they were a lot better than I remembered. I still think some of the clean vocals (both singers) are just too sweet, but when they stick to the PM-style vocals its not bad. I'll need to steal one of their albums or something and make my mind up.

I love how at the time it was some clean vocals are "too sweet." Now they're "shite" and "faggy."

Uhhh yes, out of all of those replies I chose to respond to the one the one that suggested I only dislike the band now what they are popular. Not because I have a genuine opinion on their pros and cons, but because I want to appear cool. What a shocker. By the way, are this band now popular? More popular than before? I really have no idea.

Now lets examine this bit by bit:

Ok I heard a few IE songs today and they were a lot better than I remembered. - that is, better than I remembered from my first experience of the band: "wow those clean vocals are shite."

I'll need to steal one of their albums or something and make my mind up - this I did (because I'm a no-good downloader and nowhere near the level of music fan you are, of course), "The Scattering..." and i did make my mind up. I concluded the vocals were almost always as shite as they were on my first impression of them.

You'll need to point out where I used the word "faggy." My first post in the topic was obviously a joke. As for changing my opinion from "too sweet" to "shite." Wow, imagine that, after listening to more of their material I formed a firmer opinion on the subject. Whatever next?

So I repeat: raffle thine self.
