Im just wondering why is this group still relatively underground with such stellar albums ?

Because they're French... France has never been regarded as one of the nations from where good heavy metal acts came from...

Heavenly, Yyrkoon, and Benighted. Good enough for me.

Frikin Stephen Forte!!!

I definitely agree with you on that one...not only is he a great songwriter but one of the best guitarists in metal.

what the hell is calssic about this band? I've gotta stop reading 90 and above reviews on this site... got dust to dust today, and this is fucking disappointing.

Well maybe you dont like power or epic metal...I mean this might not appeal to death/black/doom metal fans. Anyway I suggest you should check out their latest Virus (I personally think it is more solid than Dust to Dust). They both got excellent reviews from this site (above 90)and other sites. IMO I think both albums deserve a 95/100 score.
So the reason might be that you dont like this style of metal .....

heavy/power and prog is what i listen to mostly... much more than black/death and doom. I read comparsions to Lost Horizon. I mean what the fuck. this is way to generic for my liking. Okay maybe they've got some tempo changes. But this does not do it at all for me. Glad it was cheap.

Well you can always sell it im sure many people would love to buy that album! Most people that like heavy/power dont see Heavenly as generic (!!). I guess you have different taste from most people in terms of power/melodic metal. IMO they are better than Lost Horizon, and judging from the over 90 score they got here (and the user reviews under the score) im guessing others love them as much as I do.

youre absolutely tight.... I am extremely picky... I'll admit that I don't like bands such as Edguy, Hammerfall, Blind Guardian Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius and so on. The bands I like does have something very special about them, which I like and others probably don't. I think my main problems is probably the vocals. Go ahead and shoot me but ut sounds terrible. Yeah, and so does the blind guardian dude.

Well yeah that could happen! But if you dont like bands like Sratovarius, Sonata Arctica and Blind Guardian I might doubt that. I recommend you try listening to their latest album "Virus" if you can find it on the web,I think Virus is more focused and it sounds different from Dust to Dust (more melodic and less dark). If you dont like that then maybe you should look into other bands.
