Huh??? A Metalhead who likes "My Favorite Things": you're starting to make me nervous. Have you heard the '65 Antibes live version? Still my all-time fav when it comes to Jazz.

What about this Noenum stuff? Everyone talks about it, though it is not available anywhere

Now playing:
Cephalic Carnage - Lucid Interval

Is this Black or Death or Grindcore or Doom or Noisecore?
Yes to all!

Cult of Luna - Salvation (sweet, o so sweet one)

Hell yeah i own both Sanctus Ignis and Underworld, at first i didnt like them that much cause im a big symphony x fan, and they sound like them alot, but as i listened more and more, these guys are amazing, very skillfull and one of the best bands out there. And of course it helps that PC69's singer is in the band :P

Yeah, he has a great voice ! :D

But I think he sounds quite different in Adagio... a bit like Jorn Lande... :?

the bad news is he won't be part of the band anymore... I have no idea who replaces him but I guess he's gonna be hard to surpass :(

Yeah it stinks hes out of the band, i think the new guy is called Gus Monsanto, i think. Im a big fan of Jorn Lande though, and btw i think you were the one who said that Ark-Burn The Sun was a great album, i hadn't really listened to the whole album, i thought that it was gonna be like they're first, but i was dead wrong, wow this album is fucking amazing, it sounds like future metal or some shit like that, plus Lande's voice is crazy

yeah, that was me & indeed it's an amazing album.... I don't know their first but from what I read it's supposed to more straight foward melodic metal which doesn't make me want to listen to it....

I hope they make another album (hopefully a little brother album to Burn the Sun as I feel they can even improve the formula ! :D )

What is so special about Burn the Sun? I thought it was ok, but nothing amazing--had some lame filler tracks(like Absolute Zero, Waking Hour, Feed the Fire, I Bleed, Silent is the Rain; and Torn I just don't like). It certainly had some really cool songs, but about half the album is junk.

I so fully disagree !!! I think it's time you give it another spin (an open-minded one) just to make sure you didn't miss a great album which you obviously did ! :?

previously
Saxon "Lionheart"

NP
Finntroll "Nattfödd" (polka viking metal at its finest)

up next
Iommi with Glenn Hughes "the 1996 dep sessions"

with the voice Jorn Lande has, he can do much better than this. This album is at most 75/100

and Jorn's Out to Every Nation was also not that great, also had too many filler tracks.

maybe the problem is that their style isn't very heavy, I am not really into hard rock music.

Jorn never sounded close as good as on Burn the Sun. And I think it's less "hard rock music" but more Metal than e.g. Masterplan.

NP: Ozric Tentacles - Eternal Wheel

"Krautrock meets Heavy Metal, Ethno und Trance." I doubt that there is more than 3 minutes Metal on it, it's one of my Desert Island albums though.

I don't have Masterplan yet(ordered it several times but it is always out of stock), but Jorn and Ark are very light for the most parts, sure they have a few heavy parts but mostly light.

I think is time for you to give them a second chance, i didnt really liked the album at first, didnt' give them a fair chance cause i thought theyre first album wasnt all that great, but i was wrong. Also is time for you to start listening to some Masterplan, the s/f is bad ass and the new one is pretty good follow up too. Lande vocals mixed with hard rock/metal, they difinately have a unique sound in both Ark and Masterplan. :D

Current playing: At Vance-The Evil In You
