So far I'm not impressed. Then again, it is very late and I am very tired.

Yeah me too. Where have all the melodies and the catchy choruses went. All gone. Sex Jail and Space Of Disgrace are probably their weakest songs ever. Man what a dissapointment.

EDIT: Damn, their keyboard player left the band just a week ago. I doubt that had an effect on the recent EP, but you know what important role he had on Twilightning sound and the great solos he did. This year starts quite bad. First the new Pyramaze isn't what i've expected, then Twilightning fails to deliver quality material and now the new Diablo album is 20 points weaker than their last album. Fuck !!!

I disagree on the new Diablo... I've just been listening to it twice yet but, so far, it's a good album, maybe not up to Eternium (my rate was 80/100) but pretty close... 70 or 75 it is

Madness "The Dangermen Sessions vol.1" (good morning music !)

Eternium is 95 for me, so Mimic 47 would be around 75. Still not what I wanted to hear or what I expected to hear. They've gone for a more heavier thrash sound and while the lead guitar still pumps some melodic solos here and there it's not what it was on Eternium. Here the melodies have no purpose except to be filler, on Eternium every song was catchy, melodic and heavy as hell. Maybe it was a mistake to listen the single so many times. Now all other songs of the album sounds different and weak compared to Mimic 47 and A View To A Kill.

np: Windham Hell - Reflective Depths Imbibe

I guess this goes here, sounds neo-classical. it also sounds like it's going to tip over into some frantic black metal at any moment.

at times it reminds me of Tristitia and at others it feels like a Yngwie type guy soloing over Voivodian chords or riffs that would work well as black metal..

am I being obvious here?

Derek Sherinian - Axis of Evil Feat. Zakk Wyld, Yngwie Malmsteen, Billy Sheehan, Simon Phillips, Tony Frankiln

I just dug this bad boy out from the bottom of my collection. I completely forgot I had it. What does everybody else think of this album (Black Utopia)? I forgot how much this album RUUUUUULES!! Get it if you don’t have it. 90/100 for me.

I thought about buying it a long while ago (I had no idea who Sherinian was or what he played) because of the guest stars listed on the back of the album, but never got round to it.

You heard any of Bob Katsionis solo stuff?

Well yes, Plague Overload and Rolling Heads are the only 2 songs that are actually good. Still it's a weak EP and i'm worried about the future of the band.

How many tracks were on the EP you have? Mine only had three and Plague Overload wasn't one of them.

If you like instrumental power/prog/shred/neoclassical 7-string guitar/keyboard mayhem (that never goes too far over the top) then yes. :)

I had the same problem. The first i downloaded of eMule had the last 2 songs (Plague Overload and Train To Bedlam) damaged. Then I downloaded a different one and all 5 songs were OK. So, there are 5 songs on EP.

Plague Overload is what the EP is all about. The best song of the 5.
