I just heard some of the most refreshing power metal in years. It's the debut album of Finnish band Terasbetoni - Metallitotuus.

It's all in Finnish but is rocks! Catchy as hell with awesome vocals.

You guys must check them out.

Wasn't that the manowar-ish band the ex-singer from Dreamtale's last album Difference was in (or still is). I liked him in Difference, he had a nice voice. :)

No wonder Difference was my favourite power metal album of 2005. This guy has some of the best vocals in metal.

Are you kidding? I've provided more PROOF than anyone else in this thread! I've been listening to Helloween for like 20 years! Are you insisting that I don't know what this band is about? Get real. You can take whatever meaning you wish from their lyrics, but that doesn't change what the band is saying with those lyrics.

How do you know? Did you write the freaking songs? If you didn't then you don't know, so stop getting all antsy. For once I agree with Holy Terror, metal should be evil or at least about getting wasted and F**cking or something bad. Not all God take us to heaven crap....ugh.

One of the best new Heavy Metal albums I have heard in a long time is Axxis - Paradise in Flames, this rocks hard with great Male and some female vocals with balls.

I would say the big ones out there now are def:

Brainstorm
Pharoah
Primal Fear and Tad Morose if everyone would get there heads of their ass and worship this and stop thinking Power/Heavy Metal is Startovarious.

Rage is quiet cool too.

The new band has to be Pharoah though, that stuff smokes.

Axxis is an awesome band. Been around since the 80's. But you might not like them cos they sing about pussy shit like women and the environment.

In your distorted world yes. I don't want to go all Holy Terror on you guys here, but that is part of what is wrong anymore is you think symphonic, neo classical shit about Jesus and Eagles is Power Metal.

I really don't want to argue cos I know a lot of you on here are newbies, but there is a reason there is the word "Power" in front of the word Metal. Bands like Paragon, Brainstorm, Grave Digger, Tad Morose, Morgana Le Fey, Primal Fear, Angel Dust, Nocturnal Rites, Twisted Tower Dire, Wolf, that is freaking Power Metal or Heavy Metal. Sorry we are going to disagree on that.

Really know need to call me stupid. If you want to throw rose petals and prance around your room to Finnish stuff is cool with me but that isn't really Power Metal.

Don't be gay dude if you are talking to me. I like songs about woman and I never heard of them but this new album smokes hard. I just don't think every song in the world connected with Power metal these days needs to be about God and Eagles and Unicorns.

Pay attention, man. "Stoopad" would indicate that he was joking around. Secondly Stratovarius is symphonic power metal. Most of the bands you named there are true metal bands, some with slight power metal tendencies.

They're just being silly. Lyrical content does not change the style of music.

Strange that you should say this. I like Axxis but the new album is weird. It's so cheesy and catchy that i sometimes get embarrassed to actually listen to it. Bernard Weiss sings like a girlie, the music is overdone with cheesy keyboards and the lyrics suck. I like when the music is catchy but Paradise In Flames is too much. I got tired of it on the 3rd listen, it became really boring. Axxis have gone more power metal than before. It seems they've thrown away the last bits of melodic rock that was left in them. I'd take Time Machine any time over the new one.
I still like it and would give it a 75/100, but I won't listen to it as often as their other records.
