NPftD is imo MUCH better than DoD. Anyway an album produced by Martin Birch will always be better than an album produced by Kevin Shirley, no matter which band plays on it.

Personally, I love DOD (except for the cover art). In fact, I've felt that the last three Maiden albums have been better start to finish that anything from the 'golden years'. I know I take mucho criticism for that but....whatever. It's what I like and that's all that really matters in my iPod.

Maiden have obviously improved greatly since the return of Bruce and Adrian. NPFTD was a terrible album due to the departure of Adrian and the production was just bad. Adrian has a real melodic sensability to his writing and guitar playing that counters Steve's writing very well. Janick just could not fill the void that Adrian left and that was made painfully abvious until Adrian's return.

Jannick is NOT an awful guitarist. It's just that, in Iron Maiden, he doesn't have much to do except the "stage clown"

Maybe not.. I haven't heard his other stuff, but the stuff he does with Maiden both live and studio does not work out well. In my ears at least.
