Anyways, no, as I have never listened to this band, I would not want to meet them.

On a seperate but somewhat related note, Le Medley is where I saw Nightwish 3 years ago, cool place.

Avant Garde metal my ass! Celtic Frost are the ultimate in metal hammer overpromotion! Their older material sucked salty balls, their latest material sucks even more salty balls, and the only really noteworthy thing about them is their vinyl covers!

Oh and in case you're wondering I was just watching a southpark episode called "Salty balls"

Yeah I guess I should of let that slide, but I can't stand when people say bands suck because it conflicts with their taste. I know people who do it all the time.

It's not just personal taste, I can honestly give you a thousand musical reasons why celtic frost were much inferior to other aggressive bands of their time, and in case you think this is just another 15 year old rhapsody fan talking, I've been listening to their material since the days of Hellhammer To megatherion is indeed by far their best album to date, and one I still listen to from time to time. However, when metal hammer started overpromoting them from "Into the pandaemonium" forth, as avant garde metal or whatever, at a time when I don't think even themselves knew what they wanted to play (not that they were ever that skilled musicians to begin with), it led to albums like cold lake or their latest load of crap (the 66 given by Jeff was too generous imo).

Anyhoo, in any case they are not heavy/power metal, so it's basically of no use discussing about celtic frost in a heavy/power forum is it? If I were to meet up with a swiss band, I'd pick Gotthard anyday
