Even though this was said last year I wouldn't put this past them if this is the direction they want to take:

Really they need to quit right now. They are a shell of their former self.

The samples on Amazon aren't my thing but then I wasn't expecting much.

Their latest wasn't that bad, nice album if not much memorable... I'll always give this band's new album a try.

The last album was decent, but it was also following the horrible Mindcrime sequel, so it really didnt take much to improve. Ill always have a curiosity for them, but thats about it.

What the fuck? He left a lucrative(?) career in Opera to have the lyrical freedom to write the lyrics to that shitty first song.

This is shit.

"I think about you every night in my.....dreams" WTF GT?

Actually, I do.
I find it ressembling Geoff's solo album which I liked too.
Sure, I can understand why so many people are disappointed but, for example, Around the World is a great modern power ballad by a band who has understood they weren't able to craft convincing metal anymore. It seems the OMII fiasco wasn't such a bad thing after all...
Ok, this is from the first spin but, so far, I'm quite pleased with what Tate & co came up with.

Well, we can't always agree. I'm glad you're enjoying the album.

The thing is that this isn't a Geoff Tate solo band it's fucking Queensryche. It's sad that they fell way way down. Going from creating classics like Empire and Operation Mindcrime to this fucking bullshit is sad very very sad.

Another thing. Geoff Tate used to be one of the greatest metal singers of all time. He had that rare quality of raw power, intensity and emotion only a very very few had. Hearing him now it's so pathetic it's not even funny. He's capable of more than this shit.

And yes you're right. They aren't capable of creating metal. That's because their main writer DeGarmo left the band high and dry. DeGarmo was the main ship driver in Queensryche when he left he left an incompetent crew to drive the ship. Because of that they been drifting into a sea of garbage even since which is why they need to call it quits right now.

Do you really think Degarmo's involvment in Tribe made a difference?
He was credited on half the compositions on Tribe for a result that was only slightly better than that of Q2K which is saying how poor this album really was with or without Degarmo's contribution.

Queensryche hasn't been a proper metal band since Empire .. I can't see any point in someone hanging on for nearly 25 years.

My point is that, "proper" metal band or not, the quality of the songs and albums is all that matters.
