It's finally in the works:

Quote:
Seattle metallers NEVERMORE will enter the studio in August with producer (and SOILWORK guitarist) Peter Wichers (who previously worked with NEVERMORE vocalist Warrel Dane on Dane's solo debut, "Praises to the War Machine") to begin recording their long-awaited follow-up to 2005's "This Godless Endeavor", tentatively due in early 2010 via Century Media Records. Longtime friend and collaborator Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ARCH ENEMY, EXODUS, MACHINE HEAD) will once again be handling mixing duties.

Commented Dane: "These songs are full of newfound rage, lyrically and musically. Jeff Loomis has come up with some amazing new riffs that will no doubt please old and new fans alike. Also, I think the combination of Peter and Andy will result in something very, very special."

Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Emptiness Unobstructed" and "Without Morals".

NEVERMORE's "The Year Of The Voyager" DVD last year entered the German DVD chart at position No. 82.

"The Year Of The Voyager" was released in North America on November 25, 2008 via Century Media. The set covers the "This Godless Endeavor" touring cycle, starting with amazing live footage from the U.S. Gigantour 2005, the Metal Mania festival 2006 in Poland, the Wacken Open Air festival in 2006 in Germany and the main DVD show recorded at the Zeche in Bochum, Germany on October 11, 2006. Bonus material includes two songs from Century Media USA 10th Anniversary Party 2001, all promo videos and an interview with singer Warrel Dane which was recorded at the Roax Film Studios in Berlin in the spring of 2008.

For continuing updates on the progress of the upcoming NEVERMORE album "The Obsidian Conspiracy," fans can follow at www.twitter.com/warrel_dane.

Jesus, it's about time.

Opinions seems to be mixed with this band. Either you love it or you hate it. I cannot stand them to be honest, but I'm looking forward to reading the reviews of this, and will maybe give them another try.

Cool! I like Nevermore more than either of their solo albums. :\

This is Nevermore so it should be good. I'm only worried about Peter Wichers involvement in this. His skill as a producer is questionable. And yes if it's another TGE I'll be very happy.

Speaking of solo albums - Warrel Dane<Jeff Loomis

This is great news. I was the same as Thomas for a while, but Nevermore just kept growing on me. Now they are one of my favorite bands.

Yay! This Godless Endeavor was an incredible album, particularly in the wake of the somewhat dismal Enemies Of Reality, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed in hoping The Obsidian Conspiracy will be every bit as good or even better (impossible though that may seem to me).

Although my favorite Nevermore album is and probably always will be Dead Heart In A Dead World. Engines Of Hate FTW! :dio:

About bloody time. I guess when all those touring opportunities present themselves over a ridiculously well-received album you can't help but get sidetracked.

The Dane album was a nice little holdover in between. The Loomis album was musically superior but not as fun to listen to in great frequency.

i havent heard much of their older stuff save some random songs, but I really liked This Godless endeavor from the lyrics to Dane's vocalwork. I dont see why this band gets some of the bad flack they do

Well there are those who don't understand Nevermore's music. They play so many different genders they can't really be lumped in one style and that is what makes them unique.

Plus there are some who can't stand Dane's voice he does have a unique emotional tone which might not be for some.

Are you one of them:

"The more I imagine this movie the better it gets. I hope they give Varg a swoop that covers one of his eyes and have him wear tight jeans and a pea coat the whole time"

:P
