Glam is a look, not a style. They were 80's rock with a lot of metal on their first four albums.

I don't care what anyone says, Pantera kicked ass from day one until the end.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glam_rock

I'm not buying it. I've never viewed glam as a style of music. Make Poison look normal and they're just a rock band.

Make Poison look normal and you have a band no-one gives a shit about. Seriously, you think they sold all of those albums based on their music? I don't think so. They looked like chicks, so chicks were attracted to them, and bought their albums for that. I saw them live on the "Open Up" tpur, and the female to male ratio was about 10 to 1.

Glam Rock=All image, no substance Rock, ie Poison, Ziggy Stardust

I don't hate them because of their fans, but they cetainly don't help.

I think 90% of the fans of any band are fairweather fans, thus they're more likely to be retarded and annoying because they just don't get it. It's an unfortunate side effect of the music world.

I'm going to see Dragonforce tonight. Expect lots of little Emo fuckers in Trivium t-shirts to be starting mini moshpits during every solo. Little bastards. :(

Kids would mosh at a Sarah McLachlan concert these days. It's lame. I went and saw 311 twice last year and each time I went with two girls and I had to start throwing these kids around for slamming into them. At one point I effectively put and end to the mosh pit by us at the second show in the middle of the second song! Hahaha.

This kid came by and slammed into my friend's back, I fucking grabbed him, his shirt tore off, and I choke slammed him into ground! Then stuck my finger into his face and cussed him out, he didn't hear me of course, but I must have looked like a crazy motherfucker because EVERYONE around us looked a bit scared after that...and no one moshed again. Hahaha.

I saw them in concert for their Southern Trendkill tour. I had no problems with the fans that night. Sure there were the fans people are describing here, but once the band started we were all there for one thing

But try having musical discussions with them.

This is an actual quote, word for word:
Quote:
pantera were the fucking greatest band and anyone whos too fucking pussy assed to notice that can fuck off.

pantera forever

if you dont like it fuck off

He was probably wearing a hash leaf t-shirt and drinking while he typed that.

When you say 'mosh' do you really mean 11 year old emos pushing each other lightly, jumping up and down and talking about how they ripped that shit to pieces?

Mosh, i.e. The Meathead Bop, as I like to call it. This isn't old school circle pit shit. These kids do fuck each other up, but it's stupid.

And, no, I don't have problems.

I don't see how you two didn't get it... he means the character, Ziggy Stardust. He's depicted as a glam rocker, remember? Bowie's music has substance.

I'm pretty sure that's what EI meant.

He is, however, responsible for the absolute worst music videos ever to be made.

I don't think so Sir... I've recently seen some vintage crappy videos on VH1 (they were having a special "worst videos" evening) and compared to those, Bowie ruled !

Indeed, while not a Bowie fan, I respect him. But I find his Ziggy Stardust stuff to be quite vapid and empty.
